  • I heard a sede on telegram say this but I am not sure how true it is. I am not talking about St. Nicholas of course. I mean modern commercial Santa.

  • 1. My first reaction is expressed in the attached image.

    2. This thread exists. https://www.cathinfo.com/crisis-in-the-church/secular-christmas-to-remove-jesus-from-christmas/

    3. The content of the OP is completely retarded. (You said he was a sede? I'm relieved he wasn't Recognize and Resist!) That picture of Santa holding a reindeer and holding a (portable?) Christmas tree is so rare as to suspect ACTUAL FAKERY or FORGERY to better match that particular picture picture of Nimrod. I think someone is having a little joke at your expense. And boy did you fall for it!

Seriously, I'm in my mid-40's and I've never seen a picture of Santa holding a Christmas tree, and CERTAINLY NOT holding a reindeer! Before today, of course.

I'm not normally one to defend in any way the Coca Cola marketing icon that is the modern Santa Claus. But the picture in the OP is just retarded, so I have to call a spade a spade.

  • I would have expected a Protestant to push this nonsense, not necessarily a traditional Catholic, but, we do have the other thread on this stupidity.

Catholics should know that the integration of pagan elements into Church practice is normal and has been there since the beginning. It was always a means of evangelization to "baptize" certain folkish things to pull people out of satanic idolatry.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

Oh, yes, we have always bent over backwards to accommodate pagans.  Guess we pretty much had to.  For the most part it worked.

It ain't  really bending backward, it's keeping what is good, true and beautiful and rejecting what is evil. Pantheon was a temple dedicated to many gods, it's now dedicated to the true God and many saints. Halloween as well, it was a pagan festival dedicated to death, it was transformed into All Saints Day where we commemorate those who have died and have recieved their eternal reward.

    EXACTLY.

Once again, Catholics shouldn't lower themselves to repeat or promote protestant nonsense.

  • Here in Ireland, this Christmas 2021, for the first time in its history, there is NO standard NATIVITY stamp among the 5 stamps available. If you want one you have to pay twice the cost to send a Christmas card to friend or family.
