I had apraxia and couldn't speak until age 3 after speech therapy with a real expert.

At age two I could only say very few words and most of those were incredibly garbled so that only my mother could understand them.

mugger = mother
owk = house
op = pop

etc.

Maybe it was vaccination?  I was breastfed until age two and was very chubby and happy.
