  • Hello,

Does anyone here celebrate July 4th?  If so, what do you do?  If not, why not (and what do you do alternatively)?

For the monarchists here, what alternative holidays or memorials do you celebrate and recognise instead (throughout the year)?

  • What's to celebrate?  That we are free to kill babies, the elderly or incapacitated?  That we can vote for the puppet of their choice?  That we have freedom of speech so long as no one objects to what we say?  That we can narc on our neighbor, and decide for ourselves how everyone else should live or exist?  That we can determine truth and cudgel anyone that doesn't see it our way?  That we have a smorgasbord of perversions to choose from, and can go to the synogogue of our choice?

All that and so much more besides to celebrate. :jumping2:I am giddy with excitement.  And let's not forget the lurkers, the mini Big Brothers, who keep forums like this clean according to their own lights.  What would we do without them? :applause:  Oh, do let's celebrate! :sign-party-time:

You can celebrate your freedom of speech and lack of censorship, something that is held up as virtues in this country, which was so much defended as a God given right in another thread.

Not with you lurking around, John, determining what's right and what's wrong, what's good and what's bad for all and sundry.  It's called hubris, and you have plenty of it.  One would think you were the pope with your conviction of infallibility.

That's a cute story, but unfortunately addresses none of the issues I raised, namely a person using some of the guiding principles of both the American and French revolutions in defense of their right say anything they want with impunity in regards to our Holy Father. Do you or do you not defend this right?

  • You guys sure are persistent if nothing else. I recall a thread some time ago set up just so two people could contain their arguing.
Do we need another one of those?  :duel:

Pinoy, on many years, if it weren't for a week's worth of random fireworks, I might not even notice the holiday come and go.

  • St George out to slay another dragon.  I have to defend that right for the simple reason that no one but God can determine what people should and should not say.  Which means that self appointed police like yourself are assuming authority they do not have to "play God".  If God wanted things as you want them, He has the power to make it happen.  But no, He messed up and gave us free will, so all you social engineers and thread gestapos have to step in and do His job for Him.  The Bible abounds with stories of people who got too big for their britches.  Maybe you would find them "cute", too.

  • Thanks, anyway, Mater, but this pompous ___ may not implode very soon.  He will, some day, some where, but it's not worth making a special place for it.

No need for that. I'm quite willing to drop the matter if she can refrain from continuing to make reference to me, whether by name or in not so subtle ways.

I've never seen a board yet where people with two opposing views on the issue at hand can manage to get along peacefully. Either the board self destructs, or the topic is made off bounds. If Cathinfo can pull it off, it would be the first.

Ma'am, what is your issue? You continue to call me names, in this case thinly veiled but in such a way that everyone can fill in the blank, and insult me. I have done no such thing to you.

Well, if the posts/threads that are out of place are put aright, and if people quit whining about the movement of threads, or what some say about their precious "Holy Father" (ignoring him all the while themselves), it will go fine.  In fact, it has gone just fine in the main.

Btw, what "issue at hand"?  This thread, which is in the resistance folder, is about the 4th of July!

  • Can we say "thread hijacked?"

    Please take it somewhere else.

You mentioned the non-existent "issue at hand" first, JS.

So much for those nasty sedes "hijacking" every thread.

Now, how about if we get back to the 4th, and what we do to celebrate?

I am going to watch some fireworks, and maybe have a grilled hot dog or three.

That is the point, P.M.  In both my posts I have tried to redirect the thread.  It is JS who said something totally unrelated was "the issue at hand"... Read the entire thread for yourself.
