One local pro-life organizations there is a lot to be desired with the bill proffered by the Senate Republicans in Indiana. There is virtually no enforcement mechanism and no way to force county prosecutors to prosecute illegal abortions (the county in which Indianapolis sits is where most abortions in the State take place and the Democrat prosecutor has already declared he would not enforce any law that outlaws abortion. The news has only told us the bill was passed (but says nothing about amendments--one Senator said he was going to offer an amendment that would allow the State Attorney General to prosecute when local officials refuse). The House Republicans are more likely to give us an actual ban on abortions. If there's anything you can count on Indiana State Republicans doing, it's passing a bill that is acceptable to the Democrats. It's quite likely that there will be technical ban on abortions in Indiana but not one that will actually ban abortions.
