  • SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Senate has approved requiring public schools to teach LGBT history.
The Senate voted 34-18 Wednesday on the plan by Chicago Democratic Sen. Heather Steans.
It would require schools to teach a history unit on the role in society and contributions of gαys, lesbians and other LGBT individuals .
Steans says it is consistent with state law that already requires students learn the history of races or ethnicities like blacks, Asians, Hungarians, and French people.
California is the only state with an LGBT education law. It was enacted in 2017.
Republican Sen. Chuck Weaver of Peoria says the initiative could infringe on religious freedom. Other Republicans say schools would maintain control over how the topic is taught.
The legislation goes to the House.

  • Wow. I knew Illinois was the armpit of the USA, but now I'm sure of it. When a state can only cite CALIFORNIA for a precedent, you know it's bad!

"It's done in California too" is hardly a good reason or justification for doing ANYTHING. California is a hive of SJWs, liberals, sodomites, pot-heads, eco-freaks, communists, hippies, and other crazy idiots. It's the land of fruits and nuts.

  • The poor propagandized students --biting into the apple of LGBT history they will find half a worm, the other half they've already swallowed and if they try to rightly spit it back in the teacher's face they will be wrongly accused of bigotry and hate before their fellow students.

  • Needless to say...

    "Got Homeschool?"

And some Traditional Catholics think they can send their children to public schools without committing grave sin! I would laugh, but eternal damnation for the corruption of children is no laughing matter.

I think more Traditional Catholics need to review the different ways we can be guilty of sin -- by cooperation, consent, counsel, etc.

Just because YOU PERSONALLY aren't pushing LGBT on your children doesn't make you innocent. If you send them to public school where they will most certainly receive this corrupting influence, you are JUST AS GUILTY, just in a different manner.

Who cares if you get to Hell by being an accomplice, vs. by directly committing some sin? It's still eternal misery beyond our wildest imagination, and the eternal loss of God, Who is all good.

And having "no other option" is a lame excuse. You always have the option of not committing a mortal sin. In the case of your children, you can homeschool them, even if it has to be with many sacrifices, and the quality of education suffers. In other words, even if your homeschooling is necessarily pathetic due to lack of time, resources, and ability, it's still Better for your children to be uneducated and tradesmen and fit for heaven, then doctors and lawyers fit only for the fires of hell!

And it's more serious than that -- don't forget that grace builds upon nature. If your children are brainwashed into being liberals, SJWs, etc. then no amount of preaching, no amount of TAN Books, no influence from Catholic family members will ever convert them. We're talking about the very FOUNDATIONS of the Faith which are destroyed by public schools: the natural law itself is attacked and destroyed. If a person doesn't even have the natural law down, how can they ever hope to be converted to the Catholic Faith, which builds on nature?

The devil is roaring with laughter when he thinks about his successes at Public Schools all over the world.

If I was a parent with school age children I think my biggest fear would be the impurity imposed upon children in the public school environment -- teachers, books (a visit to your local public school's library would be a horrific eye-opener for many a tradCat), fellow students, etc.  (You can see how desensitized the parents are when they go watch their girls gymnastics or volleyball team, let alone the coed wrestling -- unbelievable!)

If we are to be saved we must pray.  Our children who are taken over by impurity via attendance at public schools and or other things will stop praying or if they keep praying it will be just going through the motions and will be next to useless.  (cf. Matt 15:8 )

  • I doubt you would find this diabolical nonsense in Mississippi, the nation's most religious state. Apart from Californication, northern states are the worst. Things have not changed much in that respect since America's founding.

I have very good friends (who are more like family) in grand ole MS, and I have seen a good sampling of things education-wise. This is not to say things are all wonderful and great, as much evil is being done thanks to pc liberal thinking esp in the higher institutions. There is still a vestige of Christian culture to be found, but nothing in terms of Traditional Catholicism alas. I do miss my friends there, living and deceased a great deal. Heat and humidity be two things this ole polar bear can no longer take very well, so in the near arctic we must remain. :-X :-X

    Land of Lincoln..bah humbug!
