The article is about Bergoglio's plans to destroy the conservatives religious orders inside the Novus Ordo. But what struck me was this:

Hillary White said: "I do have a suggestion if anyone is interested. I believe that the only way the contemplative life – the mitochondria of the Body of Christ – is going to be preserved through the coming storm is in the same way they say mammals survived the dinosaur-extincting asteroid. I’m talking about groups so small and flexible and adaptive that they can’t find us to squash us."

I was stunned to read this. The writer believes dinosaurs lived 65 million years ago and were destroyed by an asteroid and then mammals survived . . . to evolve into humans ! . . .  that is the evolution religion. I thought the Remnant was Catholic but just a little liberal. No more! No more! They believe in evolution. It makes me wonder if there are other articles that I haven't read (I have never read the Remnant regularly) where they talk more about evolution and expain how it is reconcilable with Genesis.

I hope I am misunderstanding this and the writer does not believe in evolution. It says "they say" so I guess she might not be endorsing evolution, but just using it as an analogy even though she doesn't believe it, but I don't know. I pray they aren't really endorsing evolution.
    R.I.P.

  • She could have been figurative with her example.

I do it all the time, utilizing the lingo and philosophical imagery of our day.  Sometimes, there's no other way to convey your point to the people you are talking to.

This is what it sounds like.

While the Remnant may not believe in the evolution of species, they certainly do believe in the evolution of the papacy.

  • I have no idea what the Remnant's official position is.

Having known Hillary White a little bit many years ago, I am reasonably certain that she personally does believe in evolution.

  • This quote does not prove in itself that she believes in evolution. There are Old Earth creationists who believe in 5 billion years old Earth but not in evolution.

Really? Are there many of these people? I was not aware that many people believed that. I thought that there were three groups, old earth atheist evolutionists, old earth theistic evolutionists. and theistic young earth creationists. I was not aware of the old earth theistic creationists who deny evolution. Maybe there are also atheistic young earth evolutionists. LOL.

  • The Remnant has always been what would be considered a "conservative novus ordo" publication. That they have evolution believers in their ranks in no great surprise considering the consistent insanity of their conclusions month after month.

I never read the remnant much. And I only read this article because I saw part of it posted on Suscipe Domine. But I tought the Remnant was for the indult Catholics who believed in the faith but did not join the SSPX or the sedevacantists for fear of schism. I thought they were Catholic. Oh wait, I just remembered another article I saw by them where they defended gross immodesty. But still, I thought they were for those few in the Novus Ordo sect who still had the faith.

Not at all, The Remnant is staunchly pro-SSPX and they are criticizing Francis and the Conciliar Church very heavily.

Are they? I guess I was mistaken. I thought the Wanderer was for conservative Novus Ordites, the Remnant was for the Ecclesia Dei communities, Catholic Family News was
for SSPX supporters, and The Four Marks was for sedevacantists. But if they are pro-SSPX why did  nctradcath say they were Novus Ordo?

That must new a new position for them as they were very contra SSPX in the 80's and 90's. As Matto thought, they were very much a pro-indult crowd.

Pope Pius XII stated in Humani Generis that a Catholic can study Evolution as a possible origin to human life, but they would be imprudent to consider it to be the likely source of all life. It is just simply incorrect to hold that the Theory of Evolution is imcompatible with the Faith. It is only a issue for a certain of Protestant literalist. A Catholic should know better.

Ok so I am at fault for being opposed to the monkey men. Only a protestant would believe in the Bible! All I know is that if evolution is true then God is a liar because when he described how he created the world he did not say evolution. Just as surely as if Jesus did not really rise from the dead and then he said he did in the Bible, God would be a liar if evolution is true.

I just can't see it. Even if Pope Pius XII did not completely condemn it when I believe he should have, my limited reason cannot imagine how it is possible to reconcile the theory of evolution (the religion of anti-Christ atheism) with the Catholic Faith and I have tried to understand it, but I cannot.

  • Some trads on Cathinfo believe the flat earth is necessary to be a Catholic, some believe geocentrism is necessary to be Catholic, some believe rejection of evolution is necessary.

Why would God give us an account of creation if it is not true?

Here is an oldie but goodie. One of the first resistance sermons I heard where Father Pfeiffer condemns evolution, calls it demonic and a heresy. So I am not alone in condemning evolution. I am now watching it again.
