Your Right Roscoe, I am not qualified to argue any of this stuff. But nevertheless, I firmly believe that both Vatican Councils were the worst mistake . And it is really not even about any of the items of each council, but rather an outlook on the Church. Nobody reads anything put out by the popes or bishops. If you went door to door and asked what the general public (or Catholics for that matter) if they know about any specific papal bull or encyclical or vatican council docuмent, you would draw a blank response. On the other hand I don't think Jesus Christ wrote any long and drawn out docuмent constructed in such a manner that only a lawyer might understand the docuмent. So this whole idea of high priesthood of elitists who don't even communicate with the common man is really bogus. It might be legalistcally correct, but in reality it is not the way Jesus operated, and it diminishes respect from the masses.
Another problem is when these rickety extended rube goldberg type notions are put forth, you have all these endless and fruitless debates. The basic tenets of the Faith should be preached and practiced -period. That means the focus should be the establishment of God's grace in each human heart. Don't belittle the common man because of his ignorance of Robert's Rules of Vatican procedures.
OK, I quit arguing.
I want everyone here to have a blessed Christmas and a happiness in your heart than no one can take away.
