What matters is our natural, God-given rights, not some nonsense made up by the U.N.
Spot on!
As far as I know, we have 3 and only 3 absolute rights from which all other true rights derive. They are: 1) to know God, 2) to love God, and 3) to serve God. In an interesting and corresponding way -- and again as far as I know, but if anyone knows better please inform me -- we have 3 and only 3 absolute duties from which all other true duties derive. They are: 1) to know God, 2) to love God, and 3) to serve God.
It would seem to me that these 3 duties and rights can serve as a most fundamental philosophical and theological basis for a good/true/beautiful Christian (read Catholic) life while at the same time serving as a sort of litmus test in discerning whether a right or duty is a false one or a true one.
