  • Contrary to popular belief these people were not "poor, persecuted martyrs" no and again no, these people were vile who were actually involved in left-wing political activities. It tells you who really controls the popular thought these days, since the America First Committee and Charles Lindbergh are considered fools and closet fascists and nαzιs but these vile people here are martyrs of free speech. You will be surprised to learn how far this conspiracy went and how deeply it went into Hollywood (or like me, having known the truth about Hollywood you wil not be surprised). This really destroys any legitimacy that the 1950's were a golden age as some on here endlessly parrot.

I will start out by revealing the main dirtectors involved in Communist fronts and then shift to minor directors, writers, radio personalities, and actors.

    1. Alvah Bessie- Mainly known as the screenwriter for Objective Burma(1945) he was blacklisted as being a member of the left-wing magazine The New Masses. He fought in Spain during the Spanish cινιℓ ωαr on the Republican side in the infamous Abraham Lincoln Brigade and became obsessed with anti-fascist causes prior to and leading to World War II. After the war he became a member of the Communist Party USA.

Herbert Bilberman- Jєω and known for being fanatically outspoken about the war after the Hitler-Stalin Pact he is known for writing the screenplay for the famous film Bridge over the River Kwai (1957) and of course was a member of the Communist Party.

Lester Cole- A member of the Communist Party starting in 1934 he wrote over 40 films that were made into motion pictures in Hollywood. He died in 1983 still a hardcore, unapologetic Communist.

Edward Dmytryk- A member of the Communist Party in 1945 he is known for making such films like Back to Bataan (1945) and the Caine Mutiny (1954).

Ring Lardner Jr.- This director was a member of the Communist Party starting in 1936 and had a brother who fought in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade on the side of the Republicans. He also used his money in Hollywood to fund the Republicans during the war. He is famous for writing films such as Woman of the Year(1942) and the series M*A*S*H* in the 1970's.

John Howard Lawson- Known for his works in Blockade (1938) which praised the Republicans in the Spanish cινιℓ ωαr and Counter-Attack (1945) a pro-Soviet film he was a member of the Communist Party starting in 1934 and himself fully admitted that he loved using Marxist interpretations in his films he wrotefor.

Albert Matz- Known for doing theatrical work in the 30's as a member of the Theatre Union which was a playwright for known leftists and pro-Communist writers he is best known for his 1945 film "Pride of the Marines" and 1970's films like Scalawag and Hang-up.

Samuel Ornitz- Another member of the left-wing Theatre Union he made the 1934 film "Imitation of Life" passing sympathy to a mulatto child feeling insecure in a white world and a black world, he along with left-wingers Theodore Dreiser and John Dos Passos covered the story of miners striking positively in the Harlon County War. He also made such World War II propagandist films like "They Live in Fear". He was also a Jєω.

Adrian Scott- A member of the Communist Party who pressured Edward Dmytryk to join, he was famous for such film noirs as Crossfire (1947) and Murder my Sweet(1944).

Dalton Trumbo- Known for a screenwriter for Kitty Foyle (1940), Exodus(1960) and Spartacus(1960_ Trumbo felt drawn to the Communist Party in 1934 and officially joined in 1943. He immediately informed all people wishing to end the war with Germany to the FBI and after the war would say that America was an imperial power that threatened the Soviets.

Hanns Eisler- Known for composing scores to the films such as Hangmen Also Die! and None But the Lonely Heart Eisler had an early history of Communism beginning in Vienna when he was a member of the German Communist Party. When he immigrated to America after the rise of the Third Reich in Germany he joined the Communist Party and in 1947 wrote a book Composing in Films with a leader of Cultural Marxism Theodore W. Adorno. He was also a Jєω.

Bernard Gordon- Known for writing scripts to films such as Flesh and Fury and The Lawless Breed he was a member of the Communist Party in the 40's and helped found the Screen Readers' Guild. He was also a Jєω.

    To be continued...

  • Now I have not watched every film they have directed but I can tell you about some of the films they directed/produced/screenwrote. And as usual with commies they are anti-fascist in theme (Objective Burma, Cornered, Pride of the Marines, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, Back to Bataan, etc.), pro-Jєωιѕн in theme and harsh against anti-Semitism (Crossfire, Exodus, The Fixer, etc.), pro-feminist in theme (Kitty Foyle, Woman of the Year, etc.), sympathy for blacks (Cry the Beloved Country, Imitation of Life, etc.), pro-union strike in theme and pro-feminist (Salt of the Earth), sympathy for criminals and murderers (He Ran All the Way, Lonely Are the Brave), hatred of the Roman Empire (Spartacus), sympathy for women being shat on by amoral, capitalist men or aristocratic men (The Case of Lena Smith, Success at Any Price, etc.), and racial and religious tolerance (The House I Live In, etc.)

  • Hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it?  Looking back, we can easily see the agenda and the insidious groundwork laid.

Thanks for your research, I learned much.

(what was it that warranted a down thumb, I wonder?)

  • Edward Dymitryk later renounced all ties to the CPA, willingly cooperated with HUAC. For that he was blacklisted himself by some of his peers.
He also directed the St. Joseph Cupertino biopic "The reluctant Saint."

  • Well, many left-wingers in Hollywood made films about Catholic saints, like the films Song of Bernadette and also The Gospel According to Matthew and The Flowers of St. Francis, along with other films that dealt with Christian themes like Ben-Hur and Spartacus. That however does not make these people good, since they knew they were just pandering to a large segment of the population.
