  • It is important to the devil that as many people as possible mock the God-Man who came down to Earth to spill every last drop of his blood for our unearned redemption.  Each time we laugh at a "Jesus joke" we are pushing that crown of thorns deeper into His skull.

Sometimes it's involuntary but we have to fight it.  There is one movie called Hamlet II that has a stage show where there is a "Sexy Jesus" and the catch-phrase is "Put it all on Sexy Jesus."  Another Jєωιѕн comedy movie ( Talladega Nights ) shows a family praying to "the Baby Jesus" and that is now a catchphrase among heathens.  They say "Baby Jesus, pray for us!" sarcastically.  Here is the scene that I think should be infamous:

Though if you tell yourself that this scene is really showing the mental and spiritual degradation of Protestant America it's actually not bad...  Unfortunately most people in America no longer even see a difference between Protestantism and Catholicism.

People are turned off to the Christian religion in any form precisely because they associate it with these Protestant flag-waving Southern yahoos, and the makers of this film knew that.  It was no accident that Bush always promoted his "Christian" values.  It is a huge turn-off for the intellectuals and the bright lights of the world.  I was an "intellectual" at one time and I was irreligious because I didn't want to be associated with the "red-state" mentality.

None of this is remotely innocent.  People now are almost incapable of listening to a reverent speech about Our Savior precisely because of being trained through movies like this.  They think any kind of earnestness is a sign of idiocy.

These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Evil men will ALWAYS mock -- both Our Lord and the men/women who follow Him.

Can't do much to change that -- it's been that way since Our Lord started His Church.

It started with mockery of Our Lord Himself, and continues to this day with his Mystical Body being mocked (and sometimes scourged).

  • Of course, but my point was that this is now epidemic.  "Good people," your friends and neighbors, have been programmed to be INCAPABLE of taking God seriously.  It is like they have a permanent sneer plastered on their faces, like they have been turned into The Joker, each and every one.  They think that it's old-fashioned, antiquated, a thing of the past to be reverent and respectful.

Humanity has been changed into something incredibly cold-blooded and the media was a big part of this.  When I look up and down the street and see the American flags waving and barbecues and families and kids playing that is what I think:  "An illusion.  Cold-blooded.  Inhuman.  All false.  They have rejected their Creator and are huddling together in their own darkness, and they call that love."

As you can imagine, it isn't pleasant being in my head.

You know, Raoul76, it's too bad that we disagree so vehemently on sedevacantism, because otherwise we have a lot of common ground.

No insult intended, but isn't it also the case with catholic jokes?
