  • Help Holy Cross Monastery in Brazil!

    As many of you know, Holy Cross Monastery is an uncompromising, Traditional Catholic Benedictine monastery, in Nova Friburgo, Brazil.  This monastery has 11 monks and has existed for 27 years, offering the contemplative religious life of prayer, study and work, following the Rule of St. Benedict.  The monastery is not sedevacantist and strongly resists the liberalism spread by Catholics who are now seeking recognition from modernist Rome.

    The monastery

    Works of the monastery:  Besides its own work sanctifying the common life of the monks, the monastery:

       Runs 3 chapels and helps at other chapels, for hundreds of faithful;

       Operates an elementary school for 14 students;

       Gives retreats;

       The monastery provides spiritual care for traditional Catholic sisters of the institute Escravas de Maria Rainha da Paz (Slaves of Mary, Queen of Peace), and also helps the traditional Catholic sisters of the Institute Our Lady of Rosary.  This second Institute was founded by Father Fernando Lopes and has seven sisters working in the school of Holy Cross Monastery, and another 23 sisters in the Institute’s mother house, in Anápolis, Brazil ; and

       Ancillary to its spiritual mission the monastery helps poor people by instructing them and their children and by corporal works of mercy.

    What I was able to confirm is that the address that a Cath Info member had asked about last week is indeed correct, it was opened for Dom Tomas by a trusted person.

    This address is correct and valid:

    Holy Cross Monastery Brazil Inc.
    223 West Jackson, Suite 615
    Chicago, IL 60606

    Thank you!

    It is my understanding that U.S.A. donations using this address are tax deductible.
