  • Are there any online sources (solid ones, not Wikipedia) where I can read on this man? I have a feeling that Raoul76 would know, but he has me on ignore I think...

  • Is he the one that came up with that "dialect"?

  • I think so. His full name is Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. He was the German philosopher. I was just reading about Moses Hess, the father of Socialism/Communism and crypto-Zionist, who was a disciple of Hegel's philosophy.

  • You seem to be off ignore because I can read you loud and clear ;)

You won't really understand the "dialectic" by reading about Hegel.  You will understand it less by reading Hegel.  In fact, if you read a couple pages of Hegel, you may never understand anything again, because his tortuous German philosophy is incomprehensible and boggling and frankly he is a madman who should have been locked up, like Heidegger or any of these guys who appeal to those who are "always learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth."

I'm sure if you typed in "dialectic" or "End of History" ( another important concept ) into Google you could find some good, reasonably cogent articles about what those mean.  The dialectic really is boiled down to playing both sides.  The natural human instinct is to choose one side over another.  If Democrats are bad, Republicans must be good, or at least Ron Paul must be good... There must be something good SOMEWHERE... The dialectic gives us a bunch of options all of which are false, so we run from one to the other looking for nourishment, for succor, for truth, and each time we come up short.

The thread about Glenn Beck shows how this has worked even on the most astute trad Catholics -- Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, and these pundits all divide the truth among themselves, mixing it with lies.  You will not find THE truth anywhere in the mass media or the indie media but hopefully with some discernment you will come close enough to not offend God.  I think most people here are in that category, though some are closer to the truth than others and perhaps have more merit in that sense, while the others may have more charity and more merit in THAT sense.  We each have our gifts from God, our talents, our specialties.

But there is a truth that shatters the funhouse mirror of the dialectic.  That can only be achieved by seeing with the Catholic lens, and by demanding the Social Reign of Christ the King.  This attitude dismantles the hollow Americanized nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr and shows its revolutionary true colors for what they are.  At that point you are freed from the Glenn Becks and the Alex Joneses and the Obamas and the Bushes.  No longer is the Masonic Constitution some kind of valued docuмent that we must respect or restore.  Catholic rule instead is what must be restored...  But to most this seems like a pipe dream, and that is because we are IN the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr or the Hegelian "End of History" ( which really isn't the end of history, most likely ).

Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Sorry for accusing you.

Thank you for the information. As I said, I came across a section in Judaism Discovered about Moses Hess, so I thought that it would be good to know his spiritual father, Hegel.

  • Isn't Hegel one of Benedict XVI's heroes?
