The Supreme court is going to decide(like it needs to be decided) whether private citizens have the right to keep and bear arms. This will happen probably by June.

Those who support the Bill of Rights have four friends on the Court(maybe)--Scalia, Roberts, Thomas and Alito. We need either Kennedy of Stevens to save the 2nd amendment; the others are lost.

If they get the guns and a race war starts along w/ WWIII, there may not be anyone left to encounter 2012. Y2K was just a dry run for 2012.

Are Phillipinos allowed to own firearms? Were they allowed when Marcos was the Pres?

Citizens most certainly have the right to possess guns. Pretty soon we are going to need them more than ever.

I don't know; I wasn't yet born at that time....

Even if, it's still violence and I'm against it. I'd rather be a martyr than own one....

Of course, there's a lot of difference when it comes to defending a friend/relative...

But certainly, citizens would do even better in not having one and protesting against violence.

Not to divert the discussion, but I think it's natural -- as in, according to the nature that God designed -- for women to be less ready to grab a sword/gun and defend some worthy cause.

Politics, war, home defense, fighting -- those things are in the man's domain, not the woman's. What part of raising kids, teaching them, being the heart of the home, etc. does fighting come in?

I don't have time to be write several paragraphs, so I'll have to assume you know the Catholic/natural role God meant for women. I'll give you a hint -- it's complementary, not identical.

This is not "certain", and seems to be more like Ghandi than our Catholic forefathers, many of whom wielded the sword in defense of God and country.

There is a time for protest, and there is a time for manly action. Have you ever read about the Judas Maccabeus and companions?
