  • Vox has opened up the Zionism forum again, but qith major qualifications.

    Rules for Zionism forum
"In our time more than ever before, the greatest asset of the evil-disposed is the cowardice and weakness of good men, and all the vigour of Satan's reign is due to the easy-going weakness of Catholics." -St. Pius X

  • My wife just pointed that out to me.

I must say, I'm not exactly rushing to shut down this forum. Basically the only things that can be posted are the articles we've seen the moderators post there in the last couple of days.

Only mainstream sources are allowed (what is considered mainstream? What about questionable sites with interesting information -- shouldn't we be able to sort that out for ourselves?)

But most importantly, there are too many restrictions. I liked how it was before, where there was an "umbrella declaration" that whenever we say "the Jєωs", we mean the select few Khazar Jєωs plotting to run the world, etc. and that we have charity towards all, especially the individual (innocent of the crime of conspiracy) practitioners of Judaism, etc. We don't even hate those involved in the conspiracy -- we are just resolved to resist them with all our might.

I don't think any of the discussions we have enjoyed in the past would be allowed there today. She also threatens to delete posts if they could be interpreted as racist, etc. So nothing has really changed.

The thing that bothers me is the over-focus on "offending new people". If we're reasonably careful, they'll see we're not a bunch of racists or uncharitable people. We have charity for everyone in the world, which is why we care about certain people trying to take over the world for Lucifer :)

I don't know about you, but I am hesitant to even risk wasting my time posting there, since you practically have 10 moderators with sniper guns aimed at a (currently) vacant area -- the first post is going to be scrutinized under a microscope and probably shot dead!

    In Christ,

    Matthew

  • That's probably true. But still I think it is a good chance to work within Vox's framework.

  • "Within Vox's framework"

Hahaha it sounds like an Indult argument or something

But seroiusly though, Fisheaters isn't the Catholic Church. I think it's high time another Catholic message board hits the scene.

It's a big Internet, big enough for all tastes. Vox runs a board with high moderation, discouragement for discussing certain topics, etc. That's fine. In fact, her style of forum fits well with her "introduce people to Catholicism" website. I suppose she doesn't want to scare anyone off, and that's understandable.

But CathInfo.com has the advantage of being separate from such a website. Google, etc. will only send people here that are looking for information on the Jєωs, Iran, President Bush, etc.

Some people like the old-school "Usenet Newsgroup" style forum, with virtually no moderation, and very small risk of your posts being deleted or lost. That is my niche.

I think the Internet's big enough for both message boards.

    In Christ,

    Matthew

  • Quote from: Trinity

There is one other angle that I would like to address while I'm at it.  This business of semantics is nonsense.  I can see why Vox is thinking like that, BUT the point of any passing on of knowledge is for people to grow up.  If we must disguise what we are saying or water it down for the kiddies, we have created a condition of stasis, not growth.  Does Vox have any plan for the matriculation of these people?  Does she have a forum of higher learning?

Well, I guess that "forum of higher learning" is now called CathInfo.com

I wish to share with you a bit of imagery:
Picture a playground at recess time. A few unpopular 2nd grade students are having a spat with the main group of kids,
who are playing baseball. Their leader sneers, "If that's the way you're gonna be...then we're gonna play baseball by ourSELVES...over THERE!" and then they go off in a huff to a corner of the playground, where the 3 kids somberly pretend to play baseball. "That'll show them!", one of them pouts.

That scene is NOT a metaphor of what just happened on Fisheaters. It is true that Vox's recent crackdown on the Zionism forum (and destruction of the Wild West forum) was the catalyst for the creation of CathInfo.com, but it wasn't the only reason.

It would be more like a group of kids that wanted to play football instead of baseball, and they went off to start a game. There are plenty of kids on the playground that want to play football, so before long the football game is as big as the baseball game.

To complete the analogy, I'd have to say they're using a brand-new football and jerseys, instead of a worn-out baseball -- because the message board software here is actually superior in many ways (including the fact we have a domain name that leads right to the board).

    In Christ,

    Matthew
