    • Having a discussion with someone online.  I pointed out that Kabbalists believe in Adam Kadmon who is both male and female.

    Her response:

    God has both attributes imo - and I am not a Kabbalist....
    1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. KJV

    I checked the Douay and it's the same "called their name Adam".

    • In this version of Genesis it seems to bypass the creation story of Adam and Eve, and just describes a race of people /descendants that were named after their earthly progenitor. Adam  literally means "Blood" in the Hebrew.
    God is our Father and as Creator has within Him limitless attributes to impart. This does not cause me to believe that God is restricted to a binary male/ female identity molded by the understanding of the limited mind of man. This insistence to form God in their own image and understanding has caused the Jҽωs much distress and perversions.

    • Well, God has all the perfections that we find in both male or female, but in reality transcends both male and female, and so the reflection of these perfections in male and female are incomplete.  It would be wrong to attribute these incomplete perfections to God.  So, yes and no.

    But it sounds more like they're claiming that Adam was both male and female.
