I live in Kansas in one of the most populated cities and up until about 3 weeks ago I saw about 90% of the signs in people's yards and commercial properties of "Vote Yes Value them Both" but as time went a lot more of the "No. Stand for Liberty" signs were making their way and they eventually started to outnumber the Vote Yes signs.  Once this started happening I was doubtful that the good guys would win this one.  There was a 1000+ people protest about 3 weeks ago with raging harpies going on and on about "muh abortion rights, muh promiscuity, muh murder ok." and after that the "Vote No" signs started coming out of the woodwork and outnumbered the Vote Yes signs probably 2 to 1. 

Final vote tally was 61.8 No to 38.2 Yes.  We didn't get completely smoked but it was a disheartening loss.  Most of the rural counties voted Yes but most of the populated counties voted No.

This loss is disheartening. Kansas is supposed to be a solid Red State, and they overwhelmingly voted for the murder of babies. Something is not right. I have talked to several pro-life advocates who are devastated by the vote.

The red states are red for business and guns, not social issues. A lot of their views on abortion can best be described as "but and except", meaning they support abortion until a certain point and with exceptions.

Very few people in this country support a total/constitutional ban on abortion. Evangelicals, some groups of Catholics, and Republican congressmen who want to be reelected are the exception.

True, but that still does not explain that over 60% of Kansans voted for abortion when slightly over 50% of the entire Country is against abortion.
