Hi, it seemed most appropriate to post this here considering its a corruption we should all resist. I am heavily involved in the different debating venues at school and around town. For the next few days I will be attending the Model UN at Mun and represnting the Holy See. The room I have been assigned is that on international queer rights. The resolutions move towards ending the inprisonment, execution and killings of homos and making EVERY country to have gαy marriage. It also says it will respect religious opinions BUT gαy marriage will be an unquestionable civil right :really-mad2:. Please help me with some arguments of how to CRUSH this! :good-shot:

Can you just drop out of school? Seriously, that entire exercise is completely insane.

This is optional, it has nothing to do with me staying in school or not. Also, I was bullied terribly at the only Catholic school in town, so dropping out of public school is not an option due that and you can't do the IB program from home.

Copy. It is simple: Sodomy is unnatural. Thus, it is against the natural law -- and should be illegal.
I know that is not necessarily something that will fly in the setting you describe, but that is the short version of the truth on this matter.
We do not have the RIGHT to do something WRONG -- end of story.

Hi Canuk, Possibly approach it from the healthcare pint of view, the billions lost in treatments for the humongous number of associated diseases?
At Roman Catholic Faithful, I believe there is a good breakdown of the horrific medical costs of the gαy lifestyle. Then there are the statistics on crime, ѕυιcιdє and so forth.

Shame the devil and lay out the facts of what this agenda costs. I'd steer clear of any emotional content whatsoever.

Agreed, although the process of explaining that it is unnatural is pretty short and simple -- and the argument is unassailable. Moderns just do not want to accept that which is patently obvious. C'est la vie...

I presume this question is for Canuk, as he mentioned those ideas in the OP.

No... not until the next opportunity for an Inquisition at least :heretic:... Just joking, no I am not. I know many people with SSA, some of them my friends. Of course most of em harassd me, called me Jesus freak when the passed by me in the halls. Funny story, one lesbian in my history class heard I was a socially conservative Catholic, she got out of her desk came over to me, called me an f'ing homophobe, hypocrite (because homo couples can raise a child), told me to go do the most vulgar things immaginable to myself then said likewise for Christ... I had to put up with that for 2 whole days! Another I know (he's bi) whipped out his :dancing-banana: and told me to look down... in the lunch room! He also forced another guy to top him in the wash rooms. I apologize if that was a tad vulgar... Look I honestly don't want to see anybody executed, some who live with SSA are perfectly nice people, but the vast majority are getting away with far too much!

Thats an impossibility, I am doing the IB program http://www.ibo.org/, which can not be done from home. It's tempting sometimes, but all my friends are at the High School where they have IB, and I don't live in the same area :cry:

You know, if it's possible to drop out of the IB program, you can take online college courses and start earning college credits before you would normally go to college. It's called dual-enrollment. It's a good way to bypass liberal professors- or in your case- a good way to bypass gαys.

Uh, if you are using terminology like this, which sounds pretty "inside," I'd say you've been reading about ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity too much.
It might be better for you to walk away from this debate and take up St. Paul's advice, which is that we shouldn't even talk about these things, as befits saints.
Of course, sometimes we have to, but in your case you don't. You're in a secular university and this debate will just be a sideshow. You're adding oil to the fire. You can't win on this kind of turf.

I highly agree. Forget about this whole thing. Your not going to accomplish anything with these people. Nor are you going to save any face by seeing this to the end if that's what you're thinking.

I suceeded! I amended the resolutions in such a way, that the rights of the Church and canon law will be upheld and recognised. The position of the Holy See and other like minded nations will not have to change!

Thank you, in the end, despite the resolution going through, it was so greatly amended that the only thing condemned was the killing of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs. We were even alowed to deport them if the government wished! :smirk:

What was your argument?

The argument was that the UN has no right to force changes in the laws of soverign nations, and that laws on social views (given the difference in cultures and societies). They said all states have to stop punishment for ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ acts and were wondering how this would infringe upon the rights of the Holy See; I pointed out how under canon law, sodomy was punishable by excommunication since the Third Lateran Council. Excommunication is punishment, they took my point. After rallying the majority Catholic and Orthodox nations behind my banner and entering into an alliance with Saudi Arabia, the bill still passed, but was so heavily ammended that little to no change (in favor of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity) would result! For example, in countries where one con be executed for gαy acts, you just deport them and can even torture them (not something I personally argued for) before hand!

You will get no argument from me about the immorality of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ acts. However, suggesting that ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs should be kills is just nonsense.
