  • My friend brought several reproductions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary to a local frame shop.  She intended to give them as gifts to her granddaughter who recently moved into a new house.  The proprietor of the store was professional and friendly until my friend took out the pictures.  Upon seeing the images, she accused my friend of supporting the sɛҳuąƖ abuse of boys and refused to frame the pictures.  My friend called me from the parking lot, all upset.
I advised her to return inside and inform the woman that true Catholics in no way support, rather abhor the revelations of pervert priests and bishops, she personally abhors these sins and has no part in them, and that she will take her business to her competitor on the other side of town.  What do you think?

  • I agree.  I have a friend who paints pictures on Christmas ornaments.  When she sells them, the buyer makes sure there is no christianity in the paintings.  The times just keep getting worse.

  • Go somewhere else.  You can frame and mat pictures yourself at Michael', AC Moore, hobby lobby.

Or seek out Catholic framers and buyers.

May God bless you and keep you

  • I like the idea of going back to tell them the customer doesn't support pedophiles. It's an opportunity to show what Catholics really think and may be an occasion for the grace for the business owner to change a little.

I'm somewhat surprised a business did this. Religion is a protected class in the US, and discrimination on that basis would have legal consequences if a customer wanted to pursue it.
