  • I know, Fox News is garbage. And I find more evidence for this on a daily basis.

They not only have tons of clickbait and "news" as bad as CNN.com, they also have TONS of ads, like some shady website you shouldn't visit!
I mean, TONS of ads, multiple blocks of low-quality clickbait "sponsored content", probably 50 ads on the whole page, things that make your computer go crazy, launching new browser windows, things that make the browser window shift left and right a few pixels every few seconds, things that freeze up your computer! I'm serious!

Things that make you say, "Oh man, I shouldn't have gone here. Where is the close button? Please, let me close this browser window!"

I have a modern PC with plenty of RAM (64 GB), the latest Chrome, etc. and Fox News.com locked up my computer this morning, and almost did it a second time! The browser window was acting strange; moving on its own a few pixels, completely preventing me from clicking any other applications, etc.

You know, the kind of thing you expect from some MALWARE LADEN, SHADY website -- the thing you see on the DARK CORNERS and BACK ALLEYS of the Internet -- the kind of website that educated, experienced, professional computer users (such as myself) know to steer clear of!

Well, I'm adding Fox News to this list. RIP Fox News. It used to be a news site; now it's a blatant cash-grabbing, low-end money grubbing clickbait site that is best avoided completely. If you insist on visiting it, you might end up with a virus, trojan, or other malware on your PC! Sad but true.

  • Yeah, the mainstream news outlets are dying ... so they're just trying to stay alive by generating ad revenue and with clickbait.

It’s not the only news website with all these ads that look like flying saucers all over the screen. I visited several other forums, and they are the same. For example, when you click to read a post, it redirects you to some puppy adoption center. These sites are loaded with all sorts of bugs and glitches, making getting around them nearly impossible. Your site is probably the cleanest, bug-free site I’ve been on.

  • I forgot to ask for suggestions for a replacement -- I hope they're not all as bad as Fox News. Ads are one thing, but excessive numbers of LOW QUALITY bottom-basement, bottom feeding ads -- the kind used by fly-by-night clickbait sites -- that's another thing altogether.

    No paywalled sites either.

  • I gave them up years ago for their neo-connery. However I find their obsession with ED drugs to be disturbing.

  • Some good alternatives:

Most of these are also compromised and somewhat controlled, as gatekeepers.

An ad blocker like Ublock Origin is essential for navigating sites like that (and if we're being honest, most of the internet as well). Not only do they serve shady ads, but sometimes these sites will show borderline pornographic ads (can't confirm on Fox, and I don't want to turn off Ublock to find out). Given that Fox has no shame in publishing articles with lewd thumbnails, I bet that there are NSFW ads mixed in the chaos.

Although not quite as long, same here for my husband and I.  Over the last year or so I have been receiving a newsletter from the folks at "Redacted"/watch their shows on occasion, but I still take their commentary with a grain of salt.
