I think she's looking for more information regarding his style and whether or not he's orthodox.

  • If he is heretical, it is not obvious. The one thing about him that bothers me is that he is too close to the Novus Ordo. I think he thinks the Novus Ordo sacraments are valid including "anointing of the sick." I don't know what he thinks about the validity of Novus Ordo confirmation. I heard he teaches how to say the Old Mass at a Novus Ordo seminary so I don't think he thinks the Novus Ordo is illegitimate. In the past he has recommended books by Novus Ordo authors, though he also passed out copies of the Dimond Brothers' book about Padre Pio. He said that it is okay to go to Novus Ordo Mass as long as you do not actively participate, but he does not recommend going to the Novus Ordo to fulfill one's Mass obligation. He believes in BOD but he gives the sacraments out to Feeneyites. He is against sedevacantists but he gives sedevacantists the sacraments. He is against the resistance and has spoken out against them in at least two sermons, but I do not know if he gives the sacraments to resistance supporters. I remember him saying there were errors in Vatican II, but he did not go into details and say exactly what those errors were. He also said that the new Mass was never properly promulgated. I made a thread called "My Priest" a while back in which I talked about what Father Robinson said in his sermons, but I could not find it using the search function. You could ask Frances too, because I think Father Robinson was her priest for a while as well.

  • When he was our priest, I went to mass and then went home. I never had any other issue with him nor heard anything odd in sermons.

He knew we were sedevacantists but never denied us sacraments.

Fr. Robinson and I do not agree re: Key points raised by Fr. J. Pfeiffer, Bp. Williamson. We also disagree on teaching novus ordo priests to "say" the Latin Mass when they have no intention of leaving the novus ordo.   He has never denied me the Sacraments because of this.  There have been several instances where Fr. Robinson has been most generous and charitable to me in times of need.  He "survived" 4 1/2 years in a particularly dicey chapel where the average stay for a priest is 17 months.  If you want to make Fr. Robinson feel welcomed, serve him a Vegemite sandwich.  He really does eat it!  How, I don't know! :barf:
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

That is either evidence of heroic penance or he has said too many Solemn Masses and the incense has ruined his sense of taste.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

It's not true! Nothing penitential or tastless about Vegemite. For me it's too salty. I prefer Marmite, if I'm not having peanut butter.

Back on track, Fr Robinson is very missionary in his approach. He knew both my parents well and offered my father's Requiem Mass. It was he who invited my husband and I to attend the SSPX Mass which was offered within two hours drive of our home (at the time) every time there was a fifth Sunday in the month.

He also approached the local Carmelite sisters and offered to say Mass for them.

We lived opposite a university and if he'd had the time, he would have set up a soapbox there and drawn a crowd.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.
