I never understood the whole raw milk thing. Pasteurization doesn't add or remove anything from the milk;
Not true. Literally, pasteurization ADDS HEAT and REMOVES HEAT from the milk, and in the process, REMOVES beneficial living bacteria by killing it in its home, and by destroying other beneficial nutrients and vitamins in the milk. So it does remove things. It removes lots of very GOOD things from the milk!
the process is simply heating the product up to 161 F for a few seconds, and then cooling it down quickly. It kills any potentially harmful pathogens, and doesn't spoil the product.
Any pathogens that are destroyed are in the VAST MINORITY, if they exist at all, and what IS destroyed is overwhelmingly GOOD things, and YES, it DOES spoil the milk --- in potency, because pasteurized milk putrefies, but raw milk does NOT putrefy. You have been watching the MSM version of the 'truth' which is all lies, basically.
What's the big deal?
On the surface, it might not seem like a 'big deal'. On the surface, that is.
Louis Pasteur had good intentions developing a simple method to increase the safety and shelf-life of milk and milk by-products.
And homogenization was developed to make it more convenient to use milk because if the cream and skim milk is always mixed, then you don't have to shake it up or stir it every time you want to drink some, etc.
But with so many other things lately, population control freaks are using these systems that are already in place to take away our freedoms, control people, make life more difficult instead of less difficult (unless you are one of 'them' in which case you can do as you like), and increasingly, pushing the limits of intrusive government to see how much Americans will take before they say "enough is enough!"
Government regulation agencies have used pasteurization laws to enforce the banning of natural milk, to make it a CRIME to milk a cow and drink the milk, basically. Why? By this intrusion into what is none of their business, they can thereby control people.
They make it a legal requirement that milk from a cow has to go through a regulated process under inspection before it can be used for anything, once again, unless you are one of 'them', in which case you can do anything you want, including drink the milk immediately after the cow was milked.
Pasteurization doesn't only kill any 'bad' bacteria (which are usually practically non-existent) but it also kills good bacteria (beneficial for healthy digestion) and destroys vitamins and other natural nutrients in raw milk. The dead bodies and broken molecules of these good things are in pasteurized milk, and it is these things that cause pasteurized milk to putrefy, unlike raw milk.
Raw milk does not spoil. It does not 'go bad' ― it starts turning into cheese, all on its own.
Which brings us to cottage cheese.
Maybe you remember the cottage cheese of 50 years ago that you could buy at your local grocery store: thick, creamy, delicious, healthy, plentiful, great in recipes, ubiquitous, easy-to-find? Where is it today? All you can find wherever you look (almost) is a runny, tasteless, limp, gooey, bland, unremarkable imitation of cottage cheese. Why do you suppose that is?
Maybe it's not important to you.
But the government regulators have made it practically a capital offense to sell raw cottage cheese, almost worse than selling heroin or cocaine.
Maybe we should be asking THEM, "What's the big deal?" Because if you are one of 'them' you can get all the raw cottage cheese you want. It's easy to make, because all you need is a cow and some basic equipment and some know-how, and some time and you can have raw cottage cheese, delicious food, happy healthy people and a normal life. So why is that a problem? It's only a problem when the regulators see an opportunity to enforce draconian penalties on SOMETHING, whatever it is matters not, so long as it gives them POWER, and they see cottage cheese as a means to apply the enduring principle of Niccolò Machiavelli: Those Who Oppose You: Kill Them.
In this case, it comes down to KILLING any small business or farm (large or small) that dares to produce and sell raw cottage cheese. It is literally a crime punishable by prison to sell raw cottage cheese, and there is NO HEALTH DANGER in selling raw cottage cheese. It is ONLY an affront to those Machiavellian draconian nonsense laws to do so.
THEY are the ones making it a 'big deal' ― not the natural farmers and loyal customers who just want to be left alone.
The big deal is, it is another assault on our freedoms.
