He was stabbed during his campaign and almost died.
He was elected yesterday, on Christ the King feast. A coincidence?
We must pray for him."

TERMS OF COMMITMENT
(of the recently elected President of Brazil)

I, JAIR MESSIAS BOLSONARO, as candidate for the position of PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC [OF BRAZIL], in this year
2018, I assume the public commitment of, if elected, to defend and promote:

• The full right to life, from conception to natural death, fighting against all law or decision in favor of abortion, euthanasia, research on human embryos and human cloning;
• The true meaning of marriage, as a union between man and woman;
• The Family, constituted according to the teaching of the Church, and its right to educate the children;
• Respect for the Catholic Faith and all its symbols, rites, manifestations and temples;
• To fight against gender ideology;
• Confessional religious teaching;
• Combating the legalization of drugs and prostitution;
• Combating poverty and any form of slavery;
• Improvements in the areas of health, education, housing, basic sanitation, environment, justice and security;
• The honest and transparent management of power and public resources;
• The fight against judicial activism, characterized by the usurpation of the attributions of the Legislative power by the Judiciary, with the responsibility of those who do so.

I am therefore committed to making the utmost and/or sanction of Laws and acts, in general, designed to promote and give greater guarantee to the inalienable values and other rights specified above.

Consequently, I undertake not to allow or do everything in my power
to approve and/or sanction Laws and decisions of any nature contrary to the same inalienable values and rights.

One of the four Resistance-affiliated Bishops lives there full time: Bishop Thomas Aquinas.
