Everyone today is OFFENDED

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) published an article Monday to draw attention to how often you use "ableist" language and thus unwittingly offend people with disabilities.
Titled "The harmful ableist language you unknowingly use," the article was written by a deaf author and professor named Sara Nović. Wikipedia notes that she's a "deaf rights activist who has written about the challenges she has faced as a deaf novelist."


To be honest I had to look up the word "ableist" and in doing so found this other link to the definition.

I agree that one human being should not insult another, but on the other hand, sometimes we must be able to describe how we feel about a situation that might come up in our life. Words become essential when we begin to look around, especially at those in power. Find one politician who does or did not use words that might offend.

Even the Bible, (Psalms 57} speaks harshly:  [5] Their madness is according to the likeness of a serpent: like the deaf asp that stoppeth her ears:  [6] Which will not hear the voice of the charmers; nor of the wizard that charmeth wisely. [7] God shall break in pieces their teeth in their mouth: the Lord shall break the grinders of the lions. [8] They shall come to nothing; "They have mouths and speak not: they have eyes and see not." [Psalms 113:13]

Sorry but I think the lady has a bigger problem.  Disabilities are a negative to how the person would wish to be if given the chance.  Only someone playing the martyr card would relish a disability.
