Less than a day before the new IMHE model was released, Trump revised his own estimate during a Fox News virtual town hall.
“We’re going to lose anywhere from 75, 80 to 100,000 people,” Trump said Sunday. “That’s a horrible thing.”

    NO IT IS NOT "Horrible".
Not unless you empty out all meaning from the word "horror". Are you saying you almost can't function? It affects your ability to live day-to-day life? Of course not. Then it's not all that horrible, is it?

A country of 300,000,000 losing 100,000 people over 6 months' time is not "horrible" in any real sense of the word. It's no more horrible than death USUALLY is.

Yes, there's a certain fear of the unknown, what awaits us on the other side. Even those with the Faith have always feared death, because "What does God think of me?" The Judgment is a fearful thing indeed. But a COVID death isn't any better/worse than a pneumonia death, a heart attack death, or a thousand other kinds of death that humanity is quite accustomed to!

7700 people die every day in the United States. Is that "horrible" as well? (BTW, that 100,000 figure covers MANY, MANY days!)

It's time to stop SINKING TO THE LIBERALS LEVEL -- remember, they emote, they don't reason or think. Trump should say, "Death is a normal part of life".
When they stand aghast in mock horror at his statement, he should say, "Grow up!"

And no, most of those 100,000 people weren't cut off in the springtime of life. That would indeed add to the horror, if lots of young people and children were dying of an actual plague. But with COVID, the majority of deaths were those over 65. Just look at the stats from Italy.

These people got to live a long, full life. Man has been mortal ever since the Fall of Mankind in the Garden of Eden. What do they really have to complain about?

How many good people never even make it to 60? I'd rather cry for them.

  • Most of the people dying in our area are 40’s and 50’s.  A week ago a woman in her 30’s and her baby died leaving a husband and other children.  It’s horrible and sad.
May God bless you and keep you
