Matthew is not a Sede.......this is his forum.....if it were up to me, and it is not of course, a sede would be on thin ice from the get go (Gladius would stay if it were up to me)......she is "attacking Raoiul" because he has already attacked her, per her arguement...unles you missed it, no topic can be dicussed without out the rather tired "who is the Pope" derailing it.....for Raoul, also, an obsession with NFP/sex thrown in.....no matter who out-numbers who, so what.the owner of CI is not a SV and that is that....feel not welcomed, then for pete's sake, do what I have been suggesting for sometime and form a Sede-only forum...

I think the exemption for churches from paying into the social security system in the usa shouldbe removed. That way, it is just like any other employment situation, you might lose your promised pension from your company, but you will at least have basic soc security payemtns. That is what surprised me, that this priest was on "SSI" which is the $500 or so a month that the USA pays to the completely indigent workers who never paid in, like housewives who are not getting survivor benefits or people who have worked for unregistered employers and in self-emplyment. There is no excuse for allowing the churches to be treated any differntly, it has nothing to do with "separation of church & state", it is simple economics.

Not even getting into the hypocrisy of "charity" here.

This was not a Trad priest. He was N-O and he was in good graces with the church. Apparently it is diocese-by-diocese and not ruled from Rome.

social security is what needs to be removed-it is socialistic and not Catholic.....charity begins in the home, then community and church....not Big Daddy Govt....of note, priests do have 401k's or some such thing to assit them....but no, a Govt controlled (hence people controlled) socialistic scheme is not an answer, removing these priests/bishops is a start...

Well, hello Belloc & TheD...
I don't post much here anymore but I lurk for friends :) (friends being those in this forum around whom it is safe to take a nap without first frisking them for knives and forks!)

Hi, I post on AQ sometimes as 'Dom', but now that the next school semester has begun I wont be posting as much on either forum, but I will try to every once and a while.
