  • I grew up being told ad nauseam that we had to save the planet from destruction, by learning to conserve our resources.  Not coincidentally I think, this was kicked off circa the 1970s, when jobs were being offshored, unemployment was up, wages were flatlining and inflation was skyrocketing.  Yeah, we'd all have to "conserve," because we couldn't afford not to!

So, they gut our economy, like pirates and then tell us to pretend that all the cutting back we have to do isn't because our leaders betrayed us and our wealth is being looted, but rather we're cutting back because we love the planet and want to preserve it for future generations.  That is especially ironic, since so many of us decided to have a lot less kids, than previous generations did in order to cut back on expenses.  Not surprisingly, we were also told that would "save the planet" too!

Well, I'll stick with "the ugly truth:"  we're all cutting back, because they looted our economy and the planet is fine and it could happily sustain lots more of us!

  •  :roll-laugh1:SAVE YOUR MOTHER, PLANET EARTH! GO AND KILL YOURSELF! :roll-laugh1:

St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

This seems to be another baby boomer idea.  The fact is that mass industry actually does pollute and harm the earth.  The liberal economy of the modern world since the French Revolution in fact are destroying the land, they are using resources in a way that is not sustainable, and they are unnecessarily destroying the riches that are necessary for a healthy long-term enjoyment and use of Our Lord's creation in order to maintain the modern liberal way of life.  Sure, the environmentalists go too far because they treat the world's biodiversity and ecological health as the highest goods that there are, excluding higher ones that they unjustly ignore or devalue.  Furthermore, it is obvious that certain lobbying groups use this concern precisely as a means of advancing world socialism and population control.  That doesn't mean that biodiversity and ecological health are not goods that it is virtuous to preserve.
