    I think Bible based Catholicism is a great thing, but run amok "post 1870 infallible human imperialism" is a horrible disaster.  I would hope people would get together in their own homes and facilities, and try to carry on the work preserving Christian Faith and culture.  

    God bless those fighters at the SSPX. Hopefully they will realize that "infallibility and Fatima" were bad calls. Please pray that we have a Christian holding the chair of Peter in the near future.

2 comments: The Bible itself does not contain all of Christian revelation.  Christ never intended this.  While the Bible is the chief source of Revelation, it is not the only source, nor the original source.  People getting together in their homes to study and discuss the Bible should be of grave concern not imperative need.  Personal interpretations of Scripture have led many into heresy.  As such, as lay Catholics we are under no obligation to read the Bible.  It does help in understanding Christianity, however, and increase spiritual awareness.  We are also granted indulgences.  The Bible should be read properly, with a correct version and a proper commentary and with the proper intent--to learn and increase our understanding.

Regarding Fatima:  I find it really incredibly how so many Catholics are quite certain that the apparitions are questionable and that Our Lady's message is not to be heeded.  I'm not a Fatima expert by no means, but from what I have read and understood, there doesn't seem to be any doctrinal errors per se.  Now there may be things that Our Lady said that have not come to pass as of yet, but certainly her instructions have not been followed completely.  

Now I am fairly new to "traditional" Catholicism.  But I have made quite a few observations about Modern Caths vs. Traditional Caths.

1) Modern Catholics love to read the Bible and have Bible studies.  I've been to some of these, and as a former Protestant, I can contest that they are full of erroneous information.  There is a real attempt to have Catholics believe that everything in the Bible is figuratively true even when some Scripture only can be understood in a spiritual sense.  

2) Modern Catholics could care less which version of the Bible they read and many have never heard of Douay Rheims.

3)Modern Catholic sermons are filled with "discussion" of the Scripture but have little content regarding the lives and writings of the Saints or Our Lady.

4) Modern Catholics might say the Rosary, but that is about as much Mary as they can handle.  They are totally ignorant regarding apparitions, what the Sts. have to say about Mary, and even what the Church really teaches.

I have been attending SSPX for 5 months now.  In that time I have learned more about the Saints (some I've NEVER heard of), their lives, Mary, prayers, and Church history than I ever learned in 15 years as a convert from Protestantism.

I've been a part of both worlds and Modern Catholicism is about 1/2 step away from the United Methodist Church in her mannerisms, speech, attitudes, and doctrine.  The worst part----"cradle" Catholics have NO clue because most have never been to a Protestant church in their lives.  They are like sheep being led to the slaughter....
