  • Is there anything wrong with eating a dog? Yahoo and Flicker banned some photos of a dead dog being skinned, gutted, and cooked (the pics are from Thailand or China and dogs are eaten there). Yet pictures of a cow (or animals we tend to eat in the West) being slaugthered and gutted and cooked aren't banned. I don't think killing a dog to eat it is wrong if that is what a culture does. God didn't say we couldn't eat dogs. We can killl any animal inorder to eat it.

  • I am not sure if it is wrong or that it is just unthinkable for most of us because our dogs are "part of the family." That being said, I was teasing my oldest daughter that if the food crisis keeps getting worse (which I believe it will) we always have her overweight Rottweiler/Husky to fall back on.

  • I believe there are such things that are culturally wrong or bad and this falls under this particular category.

Not inherently wrong, but culturally offensive.

  • It is fine to eat dogs.  I would not do so unless I was very hungry, but...that which is culturally offensive in normal times can easily become quite acceptable.

Imo, people will eat whatever they can when things get tough, including humans.  When Jerusalem was besieged by the Romans, people ate babies (in some cases their own).  We will not be any different.

Well, the least you could do is start out with mutts that were on the last legs anyway, so to speak, in the dog pound. They could be easily, um, signed out for this purpose should the worst happen as to food supply in this great nation of ours. :ready-to-eat:

  • Not sure how good it would taste or what the quality of the meat would be but... hey, if things got bad enough that people were willing to do so, at least the rest of the neighborhood could starve to death in peace.

I'm glad to see that others on here know their history.

That's why people like me "worry" and stock up on a bit of extra food -- I know that starvation isn't a joke -- and how inhuman people become when they're REALLY hungry. That's one of the reasons I moved to the country (though it's BY FAR not the only reason)

  • starvation is bad.but in the last days being a christian will be so hard.and many people will apostize.so if I am to see those days......I prefer to starve knowing my weakness to resist any temptation.
I used to tell everybody that I am going to die of love of Jesus and that my heart want to come out of chest and so on....then one day I was tempted to commit gluttony I saw a red apple and wanted to eat it,then I thought:"it is a venial sin and Jesus will be sad"but anyway I ate it. and realized that I couldn't forgewt an apple for the sake of Jesus.from that time on I stopped telling others about the greatness of my love.

  • Eating a dog is grotesque. A dog is a friend, a worker, a companion and a rescuer in times of need. They are a special animal and one should not eat them. I'm hearing that the practice is thankfully dying  out in Asia thanks to pressure from dog lover groups. Dogs protect us, guide the disabled, provide therapy for shut-ins and even helped monks survive harsh climates (St. Bernard). Dogs have saved the lives of thousands of people.

Of course. He did say to Peter when he presented all the animals of the world in front of him, that He had made all things clean.

But then again, dog meat isnt healthy, and I dont think it's something to eat when your starving to death. It has way too many toxins.

Also, dogs can hear and sense spy technology that we cant. Call me nuts, but that's what I heard on the radio from a former communications inspector of the Pentagon.
