Among traditional Catholic circles, and those who follow the issues surrounding Fatima, she was in fact world famous although its notable how little has been written about her on her death unfortunately.
But in some ways she is more famous as Patrick Kavanagh's long term girlfriend although she was said to be about half his age when they met in the late 40s in Dublin. You can see her describe the relationship in this video:
Actually I think it was her who wrote to John A Costello to try and get a job for Kavanagh when his health and financial problems came to a head in the 50s. Costello, the former Taoiseach of course, managed to get him a position in UCD teaching poetry.
She was an intelligent and self confident writer and speaker. Basically her plan was to find out what was the truth in any given situation and then to simply express it, without any fear of ridicule or disrespect. She also put in huge amounts of research and had contacts from all over the world helping her in this including people like Mel Gibson's father. She had a great insight into Irish politics as well but unfortunately ended up very disillusioned as regards the quality of leadership we have had in Ireland, both clerical and lay, since independence. That kind of blunt unadorned assessment of the situation was very Kavanagh like! She says herself that they were very similar in outlook, apparently Kavanagh was also very religious as she was.
Anyway she had been a long time observing Irish politics and knew some of the inside gossip including that Collins was shot by his driver on the orders of the British - as I think I remember her telling me once - which you can read about at length here: Mícéal Ó Cuinneagháin, On the Arm of Time: Ireland 1916-22, (Donegal, 1992).
Deirdre was the author of a number of books including:

She had to publish these books herself because they were too 'conspiratorial' for the main publishers, calling her imprint 'Fírinne' which obviously means 'the truth' in Irish. She also had reprinted a few old and important works like Fr Denis Fahey, Money Manipulation and the Social Order (originally Dublin, 1944). Why she had to go that route she made plain in this quote:
"The same tight Illuminati control is exerted over the big newspaper world as in the television and radio world.
The book publishing business is somewhat different. There are very many courageous Americans who invest in the publishing of books that tell the truth, but the message gets to no more than a small minority that has no power in the political or economic sense. The reason is that the distribution of books, as well as magazines, is in the hands of the same monopolists. If between five and ten percent of the public happens to know what is going on, it is about as much. These books are ridiculed by the media - if they get a mention at all. On the whole such books get the silent treatment, but if they do get a mention, it is only to fling personal abuse at the authors."
