Probably one of the most rancid films of Weimar Germany this was also one of the first films released under the newly created government, which showed the support the government had towards ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.

It is shocking to see the "usual formula" still used today about gaining sympathy towards sodomites, all the way back right after the First World War. Basically it tries to show ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs as bullied, oppressed, victimized, etc., it tries to show their unnatural disease as "normal," and finally it tries to show how all the great "geniuses" of the world were ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ.

Thankfully this filthy film actually has been lost mostly, save for about 50 minutes. You can also see a mirror image of our own cultural life in this film.

Yeah, so they make one of the worst vices, into one of the best virtues. And, if you object to it, they make you out to be a sinner, in need of repentance.

It's like witchcraft. Our modern sensibilities seem to tell us witches are fine, but anyone who has a problem with it is an ignorant bigot, in need of re-education and sensitivity training.
