Not demonic so much as practical. If you were homeless, which would you prefer, the sidewalk or an RV? 
I hope the owner has good insurance. He’s going to have to build a high chainlink fence with razor wire, electrified, 24/7 surveillance cameras streamed live to the police. A few dozen Dobermans, pit bulls, and German shepherds wouldn’t harm, either.
