  • People sometimes are confused when I speak of America's cultural life resembling Weimar Germany so I will explain what cultural life was in Weimar Germany at the time.

First of all as shown by films such as Different from the Others (1919) ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity was becoming an acceptable part of life in Weimar Germany, just as in Rome centuries before. Weimar Germany also instituted the Insitut fur sɛҳuąƖwissenscaft (Insitute for Sexology), which was trying to make ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity a mainstream part of the culture.

In terms of filth Weimar Germany led the world in terms of a high mumber of prostitutes, drug abuse, alcoholism, etc. Its famous art form at the time was under the form of cubism, and the most popular music was jazz. The cinema at the time was also extremely filthy, full of 'dark' films such as The Cabinet of Dr. Calgari (1920) or Metropolis (1927) or films dealing with prostitution, gambling, and the like such as in The Blue Angel (1930) or Dr. Mabuse the Gambler (1922).

  • Oh and yes let us not forget the Frankfurt School of Cultural Marxism, whose leaders were Jєωιѕн and Marxist, came out of Weimar Germany as well.

This is coupled with the fact of hyperinflation going on at the time, where German mothers had to prostitute themselves just to provide for their children, something which is similar to the Federal Reserve doing inflation.

One should note, of course, that this "cultural life" was largely restricted to urban and industrial areas, which have been the breeding grounds for decadence and immorality since the beginning of days.

  • This is true, although when we speak of America, America's cultural life can be found even away from the big city in the suburbs.
