    I have no issue with the Cuban people, but if this brings down the socialist regime there, this is a cause for rejoicing.  

    One can only hope that Cuba will finally be liberated from socialism, especially the particularly crushing variety that, up to now, has been in power there.

  • It is obviously good that the communist dictatorship is falling, but the transition will be tough for the people.

    The best example is what happened to the USSR states after the union was dissolved. Terrible times, unfortunately.

    As the article says, the most educated are leaving the country, and they probably will continue to do so, specially after the crisis escalates. The poor won't be able to leave and will have a really hard time.

    Let's hope that they find a good leadership once the communists are put in jail and tried for their crimes.
