  • Are there any traditional convents who take older women?  If not convents are there any other options for women who say are just in their 50's or 60's but are widowed and want to lead a religious life in common?

Contact all the Traditional convents that you can think of.  Perhaps they do have exceptions to the rule.

The only convent that I know of that accepts late vocations is one under the CMRI in Rathrrum, Idaho, near Post Falls.

I do not remember the name of their order, they are not CMRI sisters, but their order is under the guidance and support of CMRI.  The Superior's name is Mother Mary Fatima.

If you would want to get in touch with her, I would suggest contacting the Church in Rathdrum:

If you own a house, you could start there.  Set one room aside as a chapel.  Invite other women to join you under the guidance of a priest.  Go from there.  If God wants it to work, it will.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

There is a convent in Germany.
To live with the Saints in Heaven is all bliss and glory....To live with the saints on Earth is just another story!  (unknown)

As of now, I have heard that CMRI only takes candidates up to 35 years of age.  However, you can contact them about considering exceptions.
