It slays me when women, minorities, etc. act like they need to be a modern-day Martin Luther King (who isn't the saint that most hold him up to be -- but I digress).
I saw a video (muted, but with subtitles) and it showed a young black teen, talking about how "black girls should be able to pursue whatever interests them, whatever they're into."
And I had to laugh out loud. And why exactly do you need to ride to the rescue, Miss? Which activities and interests do the wicked 2021 Jim Crow laws prohibit young black girls from pursuing? Please, enlighten me!
Silly me, I thought Jim Crow laws were a thing of the past.
Last time I checked, STEM materials and equipment were being sold to anyone with money. And I haven't seen vans driving up and down the street giving free Raspberry Pis, computers, robotics kits, electronics labs, chemistry sets, telescopes, etc. to white kids only. White kids have to wish for stuff for Christmas too -- and many don't get it. I had to wait till I was 15 to get my first computer that I wanted so desperately. "White privilege" my butt.
Raspberry Pis can be used for just about every humble PC need, including programming, graphics design, web design, even basic web hosting (for practice at least). And they cost $35, not counting accessories. I wish there had been such an option when I was a kid.
