  • If you talk to yourself, even while earmuffed, you can still hear yourself - so there is no sensory deprivation as far as sound.

If you make yourself day-dream or think about memories in your head, then you won't notice the darkness - so there is no sensory deprivation as far as sight because you see through your imagination.

Can can there be complete sensory deprivation, then, by blindfolding you and earmuffing you? Maybe because we live in a society where people aren't used to silence or some sort of visual stimulation.

  • Good thinking, Magdalene.  St. John of the Cross used his incarceration to sing to God.  Hey, I'm in a quandry.  I was novus ordo for years and know only NO music.  Since I left NO I have rejected everything about it, including the music.  I miss the music but have nothing to replace it with.  Any ideas?  And songs in a foreign language don't quite fit the bill.  No, I don't know Latin.

  • If your a traditionalist theyll probably make it worse by replacing the earmuffs with big headphones roaring heavy metal music! But depending on the song and band, that would just be entertainment for me Im afraid to say. :headbanger:
