Did you miss this part?
"My view on the curse is only that the Church allows this interpretation." Do you dispute this?
I don't deny that this teaching has been condemned by the Congregation of the Index in 1864. I'm the one that added this discovery to the curse of Ham thread. You act as if this is news to the person who brought it to your attention. As for conflating Ethiopian, a particular black people, with all blacks, you have a point. But that's only in the Pope Pius IX example. But it begs another question, and that is that Pope Pius IX is saying that Ethiopian's have the curse, unless he's using "Ethiopian" in a 19th-century usage unknown to me. Perhaps someone could chime in on that question.
I'm not campaigning to prove that the curse of Ham applies to blacks. I don't know that it does apply to them, but I know Fr. Meagher was never punished for stating as much. His book "How Christ said the First Mass" must have received an imprimatur. Pope Leo XIII conferred on him Doctor of Divinity. And St. Ephraem the Syrian was made a Doctor of the Church in 1920, long after the Congregation of the Index condemned Bishop Auguste Martin's letter.
As for my being a troll to make Cathinfo look bad, Matthew took part on the curse of Ham thread, if only momentarily, though I don't know what he thinks about the curse of Ham. If you have a problem with any of my posts you should report them.
