  • We are on a trajectory towards ƈσmmυɳιsm’: Family gives up European travel rather than mask, take cσɾσnαvιɾυs ναccιnє

Meet a Catholic family that will not take the CÖVÌD-19 ναccιnє, or permit their children to take it, or wear masks, no matter what the cost.

June 11, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Andre Ebert is willing never to go home to Germany rather than wear a mask on the flight, let alone accept a CÖVÌD-19 ναccιnє.

The executive chef and his wife Andrea, also a professional chef, are the parents of six children – with one more on the way. They told LifeSiteNews in a recent interview that they will not take the CÖVÌD-19 ναccιnє, or permit their children to take it, or wear masks, no matter what the cost. And the costs are potentially very high: restaurants are requiring staff to wear masks and Europe – mecca of many food professionals – is currently inaccessible, thanks to airlines’ mask mandates.
But as traditional Catholics, they refuse to bend the knee to government-imposed narratives they believe are false.
“I think it’s not just CÖVÌD,” said Andre, who grew up in socialist East Germany.
“It’s also what’s going on politically at the moment. It seems to me that we are on a trajectory towards ƈσmmυɳιsm.”

Andrea recalled commiserating with her mother-in-law in how “horrible” it must have been to live under the privations and restrictions of life behind the Iron Curtain and being shocked when the older woman revealed that they “were very comfortable in their prison.”
Her husband has been troubled to find the same willingness to accept whatever the state chooses to hand out among Americans today.
“The government is doing what the ‘scientists,’ the authorities, tell us to do, and they are following that,” Andre said.
“Nobody wants to stand out. When you go into the grocery store, everybody’s wearing masks,” he continued.
“It’s like a bunch of zombies doing what the government tells you. You feel out of place, almost, if you’re not wearing a mask. People look at you.”
Andrea said that it was hard to reach people who don’t follow the family’s health philosophies, which include an emphasis on excellent nutrition, because “they’re so sucked into this world of fear and lies.”
Knowing the truth, she said, makes one almost “immune” to propaganda and free from fear.
Andre suggested that knowing how the CÖVÌD-19 ναccιnє is made makes someone morally obliged to reject it.
Regarding masks, Andre said people had told him that it was “just easier” to wear them, so they can “get what they want.” He himself has been denied entrance to shops because he was not wearing a mask.
Andrea thinks the way to cope with push-back against the couple’s freedom-loving stance is to face the worst that could happen to them – including the extremely slim chance of dying of CÖVÌD-19 – and then plan for it.

“You almost have to face the consequences and be fine with it, and then it’s amazing how God catches you every time and it’s actually better.”
Andre is dubious that they or their children have much to fear from CÖVÌD-19; the experimental CÖVÌD-19 ναccιnєs, however, are another story.
“If you’re healthy, you don’t have to worry about the virus,” he said.
“Children don’t have to worry about the virus. I think we’ll take our chances with the virus rather than with the ναccιnє.”
His wife, who describes herself as “very freedom-motivated,” has made their objections to the official CÖVÌD-19 narratives very public. Andrea believes that the way to “attract your tribe,” that is to say, likeminded people, is “speaking the truth.” Thus, she had always been very open about her views on home-schooling vs. the public education system when she tackled the CÖVÌD-19 issue in February 2020.
“I almost feel like we have a moral obligation to start sharing and speaking up, and the more people that speak up, we get stronger in our convictions,” Andrea said.
“We come together like a very powerful tribe, and then we become the force to be reckoned with.”
The pregnant mother offered the example of going mask-free to her ultrasound appointment and thus befriending a likeminded, but then less bold, employee in the office.
Regarding the earthly delights of Europe, its fabled restaurants and delicious bakeries, the couple has been building their own home-based business so that they would be free to travel throughout the continent with their children. But in adjusting this dream to embrace a trip around the United States, Andrea reflected on the story of Lot’s wife and her own teenage hankering for New York City, which her “conservative” Nicaraguan mother thought God might destroy any minute. There must have been something about sơdơm and Gomorrah that Lot’s wife valued, Andrea believes, and that’s why she turned around.
Andrea used to worry that she herself would be like Lot’s wife but has discovered that she is not tempted at all to give up her convictions just to go back to Europe.
“Europe is far worse off than the United States,” she said.
“It has lost all its lure, all its spice and flavor and appeal because [of] the [establishment’s] slave system,” she continued, adding that she didn’t want to have anything to do with it.
“Even if it means that we’ll never go to that bakery again, we’ll never go to that restaurant again, we’ll never see that place again – it's lost its appeal.” In

  • What a sacrifice, to give up all European travel ... a luxury which most of us don't have.  Get back to me when they're faced with the prospect of either starving to death or wearing a mask.  Heck, when the SSPX chapel was requiring a mask, I opted to go there despite having to wear a mask so I could receive the Sacraments.  Making a political statement about mask wearing simply isn't worth giving up access to the Mass and Sacraments.  Now, the SSPX SHOULD have fought this whole thing and not caved, but it was what it was.

  • I think it's kind of silly to single out one family for "15 minutes of fame" for something like this. There are a LOT of families just like theirs. Maybe they don't have as many kids. Maybe they don't want to be famous. But they are just as principled in rejecting the CÖVÌD religion. Aren't there dozens of such families on CathInfo alone?

I understand what LifeSiteNews is doing; they're trying to encourage us by holding up one family as a model for emulation -- to show that it can be done.

But it smacks of the modern way of Social Media, with "influencers" on Youtube, TikTok, etc. Why is one layman ordained to be an "influencer" for countless thousands of others? Why is he so special? Just because he went and created a Youtube account and bought a webcam, and committed to uploading a video a day? And for that, he should shape the speech patterns, interests, views, etc. of 10's of thousands of others -- even millions of others, in some cases?

It just seems screwed-up to me.

Again, all it takes to become an "influencer" is a youtube account, webcam/microphone, and the commitment to maintain a channel. Actually achieving fame is as much an accident of "being in the right place, at the right time" like everything else. And the Youtube algorithm -- they get to pick who appears high in the search results.

It sounded like they did more than just give up European travel.

  • During covid, on Feast of Assumption, I went to Mass at diocesan Latin Mass without wearing a mask while everyone else was wearing one like zombies.

Now the local SSPX (which is in dangerous city neighborhood) Mass was normal and I didn’t see anyone wearing a mask.

How long was your SSPX enforcing mask wearing?  I would've agreed with your stance early on but at this point I would stay home before I'd wear one in church, which I'm fairly persuaded is somewhat sacriligous and makes one complicit in nwo in a way I can't really square myself with.. I do grant howevef that it's easy for me to say having an sspx chapel that doesn't do this crap, furthermore I am not nearly as strict in the secular world tho I try to avoid the masks when I can help it

  • My SSPX chapels never enforced mask wearing or social distancing.  Pretty much everyone though it was ridiculous.  I have seen a mask at mass for months and the priest distributes Holy Communion as normal.  It is a huge blessing to be able to escape the lunacy for an hour.

Sarcastic! This couple is talking about forfeiting going home, not giving up all European travel. After all they were both born in Germany. I don’t perceive going home to be a luxury.  I admire their stand. No need to scoff. Do you want a medal for going to Holy Mass in a mask.

  • My SSPX church did not insist on mask wearing. If you saw one, two or three wearing masks at any one time that was all. For a year and a half now, I do not know of one who got any illness in that time. There is no doubt that those with faith, those who attended Mass every Sunday, and every day, had no fear of getting anything off one another or the priest's hand at Holy Communion. Whether this was because they knew it was a scam or that God would not allow any so-called virus to spread because of Him, I don't know, probably both. i did see one or two wearing masks lining up for Communion but off they came at the altar-rail. I would say our congregation doubled in the last year. God works in strange ways.

No excuse for Mass in that neighborhood.  The priest has to travel 6 hours back 6 hours back to New England.  So stupid when most who attend are from NJ. and they could have built a chapel with a full time parish priest with Eucharistic adoration daily and daily Mass.  then there are other places with 6 priests at one location.  Some trad Catholics go to novus Ordo for Eucharistic adoration.

  • I went to a different SSPX yesterday as visiting my sister.  It was standing room only.  Have never seen that chapel full in the last 30 years.  It is in the boondocks of East Sussex 40 miles outside London.  Getting similar reports about the main London Church too.  SSPX appears to be growing here in the UK.  Lots of new faces too.  Older people 50 or 60 I do not recognise. They must be diocesan people who have switched.

It would be interesting to hear about how many people have joined -- and left -- if the profile of the average parishioner has changed.

Let's put it this way -- the simple chapel population does NOT tell the whole story.

Where I live, we get ridiculous amounts of a rain for a month, then drought for 3/4 of a year -- but at the end of the year, we seem to have a "normal" amount of rain.
No, we had monsoons and flash flooding, followed by months of epic drought. It was almost never "normal".

If you came in from outside where it's 0 degrees, into a sauna where it was 150 degrees, is it true that you experienced an "average" temperature of 75 degrees? No, the average doesn't tell the whole story. You froze, and then you practically baked. At no point did you experience a beautiful 75 degree spring day.

Likewise, a bunch of people could have left, while 140% of that number could have joined from the Novus Ordo, diocese, indult. That wouldn't be a good thing for the SSPX.

  • While our local SSPX chapel shut down due to the governor’s orders, and later required masks, Fr. Leo Carley refused to comply.  So his chapel was literally overflowing with displaced SSPXers and even Motarians.  At one point someone ratted him out to the Health Department (anonymous tip from the SSPX?) and the state came in and forced him to rope off every other pew under threat of shutting him down, so for a while he had to give in to stay open.
