Hollow. There is a protestant pastor, a messianic Jew.

Creekside Messianic Fellowship (john1415.org)

He has some excellent material related to the Jєωιѕн origins/foundation of the NT. However, his Church history is full of absurdities, from the origin of Easter to the claim, that the Church killed anyone caught reading a Bible because they might question the Church.

So I wondered if anyone knows of a well-known apologist who might be interested in an online debate on pagan influences in the Catholic Church. I am looking for someone who can make a good case.

  • You could contact Dr. Robert Sungenis.  He's top of the line and has taken on the best of the non-Catholic debaters.

  • You could even send an email over to MHFM. They're always looking for heretics to debate :laugh1:

  • I see those "arguments" a lot and had a debate with a Prot "minister" in a YT comment section that went for a few days and what it all boiled down to and what the Prots don't realize is that the pagan origins that they talk about is the devil and his false religions basically being a cheap knock off of the real thing that was to come later, they always get it backwards, the pagan false religions under demonic influence tried to paganize (future) Christianity.  Christianity aka Catholicism defeated those false religions and that's why they took over their buildings and made them Christian.  They (Catholics) weren't paganizing their worship.  The pagan false religions did some things right so if the Prots want to be consistent they should never pray because many pagan false religions prayed also.

He gave up that argumentation after a bit and resorted to the "u eViL Crew-sades," "u burn peep hole, u bad" to which I then pointed out what the Prot English did to Irish Catholics and what Puritans did to the witches (justified if they were actual witches and wouldn't recant) and eventually he rage quit.

I wonder if it's even still up, this was several years ago.  I quit YT a long time ago.

He's a complete idiot.  Debating anyone who believes such rubbish would be a waste of time.

What sort of speakers/debaters do they have? Would you say they would give a good representation of Catholicism and church history in a debate format?

Unless he has a influence on his congregations and this would provide a chance to expose lies. That is a worthy goal IMO.

Yeah, they're pretty solid on that end, at least from what I've listened to. Its their rigorism when speaking to/against other Catholics that gets a bit out there.

    A couple examples.

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

Email them and ask for Br. Peter Dimond.

  • Sungenis is (or at least was a couple years ago) sungenis@aol.com

I tried to get a discussion/debate going about Sedevacantism with him but he didn't want to.

If Sungenis or Dimonds won't do it then PM me and I will.  I'm not too well known but I'm a decent debater and have debated several people on various things.  I would say Sungenis and Dimonds are a better bet overall though.
