  • If the Scots couldn't leave the United Kingdom, Britain won't leave the European Union.  Frankly, I don't think most Western Europeans believe in their countries anymore.

Unfortunately, I think the same can be said for Americans.

  • I don't believe in America anymore. I cannot believe in a country that allows legal abortion, gαy marriage, and now all this transgender bathroom nonsense.

There's a difference between believing in your country and believing in your government.  All of what you note above has been imposed upon the country by the government.  Unfortunately, the people seem to embrace them.

Thank God there are still countries like Croatia!

We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

I note that this video was posted in 2013.  As fast as things are degenerating, three years is a long time.  The pope this priests now looks to is undermining everything he was trying to do back then.

I wonder...  Are there still countries like Croatia?

What does the Church think about secession?

Since Pope Pius IX wrote a letter to Jefferson Davies, acknowledging him as "Honorable President of the Confederate States of America," it seems the Church isn't opposed to secession in principle.
