Israeli-born economist confirmed head of Brazil’s Central Bank

    Quote
Ilan Goldfajn, an Israeli-born economist with an acknowledged career in both the public and private sectors, was confirmed Tuesday as president of Brazil’s Central Bank.

Goldfajn, 50, a Haifa native who was raised in Rio de Janeiro, has served as chief economist at Itau, Brazil’s largest private bank, and deputy to the bank governor of Brazil, as well as adviser to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

He is an active member of the Brazilian Jєωιѕн community and was educated in Rio’s Liessin Jєωιѕн day school. In a May meeting held by the Brazil-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Goldfajn said “Brazil has a lot to learn from Israel.”

Last year, Goldfajn argued during an Israel-Brazil chamber event in Tel Aviv that the deep economic crisis affecting Brazil stems from a lack of fiscal responsibility. In response, he said, Brazil must boost exports and raise taxes, cut government spending and raise the retirement age.

An outspoken critic of the corruption and socioeconomic gaps in Brazil, Goldfajn will face a series of monetary and economic challenges. Latin America’s largest nation is struggling with its worst recession in nearly a century, including the prolonged erosion of the Brazilian currency, the real, steadily rising inflation and the pessimistic projections of a negative 3 percent growth in 2016.

Last week, Michel Temer was named Brazil’s interim president replacing the suspended Dilma Rousseff, who is facing impeachment over her alleged manipulation of the state budget. At the time, Temer had put forward Goldfajn’s name as the mostly like to head the central bank, but Finance Minister Henrique Meirelles delayed the announcement of his economic team until Tuesday.

Fluent in Hebrew, English, Portuguese and Spanish, Goldfajn has a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In the mid-1990s he was a professor at Brandeis University, followed by a stint as an economist at the International Monetary Fund.

He said he dedicated his career to his father’s advice on the importance of studying.

“I only stopped my formal studies at almost 30,” Goldfajn told Educate to Grow magazine in 2012. “This was key to my life in economics, which is also based on studies. Right after I graduated, I thought of working and my father showed me I could invest in me more.”
Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war. ~ Psalms 143:1 (Douay-Rheims)

  • There are a few false reports about the situation here in Brazil. I think this post is relevant and a good place to post.

    1) There was no coup in Brazil. There was an impeachment of an unpopular Brazilian president, Dilma Rouseff. She was impeached and very unpopular with the people. She was a socialist and a leftist, but she didn't force ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ "marriage" or abortion on the country like the future leaders certainly will. It is undoubtedly certain that the mainstream Brazlian media influenced the public against her.

2). The trouble for Dilma Rouseff began shortly after she denounced Israel a couple years ago. As a BRIC country, she was aligned with Russia against the U.S. and Israel. Many scandals, which were surely known by intelligence agencies, were cast into public view and ...wait for it...the Brazilian currency was terribly devalued.

    3) The provisional president to take Rouseff's place was discovered to be a US informant after a wiki leaks or two were released last week. The first thing he does is place an Israeli in charge of the Central Bank.  Next will be all the militant deviant laws, surely.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

  • Thank you, both. A death warrant indeed: this shows us that the masters of the world will not tolerate delay in imposing Lucifer's kingdom completely even from one of their own. Rousseff was rather slow in corrupting her nation so the media -- owned by the enemies of Christ -- has been used to destroy her. They also control the banks so it is no surprise the currency was devalued, and when she spoke against the false Israel (the true Israel is the Church) it is also no surprise that they decided to do away with her.

An American spy and a descendant of the men who bayed for Christ's blood -- Brazil is doomed. It will be dragged nolens volens (not, I suspect, that it was not already stinking to high heaven, a corrupt and Socialist country, just a little behind the present step of Lucifer's advance) completely into line with the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr.

It is worth pointing our that this Temar man is apparently an adulterer -- will the vileness of this world be tolerated much longer? Come fire, dear Lady of Akita, come the fire!
