Title: Blasphemy against Our Lady of Guadalupe
Post by: Matthew on April 12, 2011, 05:58:39 PM
Reminder, please don't rate this post based on how much you like the blasphemy!  If you want to rate the post, please rate what you think of MY POSTING OF THIS so you can click on the petition, letting you know about it, etc.

I'm deeply pained to tell you that Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas, is impurely blasphemed at the Oakland Museum of California.

The Oakland Museum of California is hosting an art exhibit that includes a digital portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe wearing a bikini, held aloft by a topless woman-angel!

And it will be on public display until May 29!

You and I cannot sit by idly and do nothing about this awful blasphemy! We must do reparation and lift up our voices in peaceful and prayerful protest.

Send the museum your instant e-protest message. The silence and indifference of Catholics encourages the promoters of blasphemy to push their agenda.

And why so many blasphemies against the Blessed Mother?

I don't have all the answers, but perhaps they're trying to shake the deep love and veneration you and I have for Holy Mary.

If the promoters of blasphemy hope to dull our love for God's Holy Mother with these shocking and repeated attacks, they are wrong!

Much to the contrary -- you and I will strive to increase our love for the Blessed Virgin Mary by protesting blasphemy with ever-greater zeal and increasing our acts of reparation!

I'm sure you agree that we must rise to this occasion and protest, with all our hearts.

We must show Jesus that we care, and that we love His Mother, the Patroness of the Americas, and that we will defend Her holy honor no matter how many times She is attacked and insulted.

And our prayerful protest and reparation is the only way of showing our gratitude and our only hope of redeeming ourselves.

That is why I am urging you to speak out, and to:

Send the museum your instant e-protest message. On behalf of the Virgin of Guadalupe's honor, please join me in this peaceful and prayerful protest.

Yes, peaceful...protest...yes, yes....
Of course that's what I ...aah...had in mind. *ahem*

Is it just me, or would others also enjoy the thought of that blasphemy being cloven in twain by a sword, then set ablaze, and spit upon while the cursed work is being consumed by the blaze?

The consumption of the work by fire would be an apt foreshadowing of the ultimate fate of the artist's soul...

You don't want to see me with any more zeal for Our Lady's honor (see my previous post!) I don't know what else I could do.

Seriously, it's pretty grave when they spurn the Mother of Mercy.

What hope is there for them who do this? It's like spitting at the king and saying, "I spit at you, I spit on your mother, AND I spit on your mercy!"

What do you suppose would happen to such an unhappy man? Especially if he were already a prisoner/convicted felon sitting on Death Row (which any sinner is before God)

I contacted the museum and told them that I consider this to be a racial insult to the Hispanic community's faith and culture.

I Also just called: 510-238-2200. I listened through the directory for the Director's office First, Option "1" for English, then Option "0".

Some lady answered, "Hello?"
"Yes I'd like to know how to complain about an artpiece you're to have on display."
"Oh," She said. "I already know what you're talking about. We've recieved many calls about it already." (She wasn't being snooty or anything)
"Okay, well will you please let your director know that I find it very disrespectful. And racist (me too Samurai- you have to speak in their language). Thank you."
"Yes, I will let the director know. They are having a meeting on this already, however I do not know the outcome as of yet."
"Thanks. Bye."

Please- even if you live on the East Coast or Midwest, call. For her sake :(

And why so many blasphemies against the Blessed Mother?

This is because they reject and blaspheme Our Lord. If the Word Incarnate Himself is not spared from the idiocies and turpitude of these infidels and apostates, she who brought Him forth from her virginal womb would suffer these indignities as well. As on Calvary, so even in our day the Blessed Virgin and her Divine Son share as one the jeers and curses of the impious and perfidious tumult.

In thus blaspheming her and refusing to repent, they essentially seal their own reprobation. And yet no one creature is more willing to lovingly forgive them and embrace them within her maternal arms [if they repent and do penance] than the very Blessed Virgin whom they insult and dishonor.

It is in such abominations that the true colours of the pertinacious heathens are made manifest. The ones who spout that 'all religions should just get along' are the very people who heap the most insult upon the one religion which is sacred and true.

Pitiful hypocrites. What will they say when they appear before Our Lord and Our Lady? They will not be able to bear the splendour of their countenance, unless they repent in this life.

The artist, Alma Lopez, is a "married" lesbian.

I called and spoke to the receptionist and also left a recorded message. My question them, is "Now that you have insulted the Catholics, when do plan to have an exhibit insulting the Moslems?" Are they taunting God to release an earthquake and take care of their insult this way?

TFP doesn't do anything. I won't support them at all with their work, even with this. I'll just find out who I have to contact myself instead of going through that cult.

The only reason this skank has gotten the grants and awards is because of her ethnicity and being a lesbian.

Her work is banal and immature, but the Art Police need someone like her to exploit their hatred of women and the Holy Mother of God.

A white guy from Yale couldn't get away with it.  LOL, even a guy like Kobe Bryant got a $100,000 fine for calling someone a fαɢɢօt.

When you consider the meekness and humility of Juan Diego....

"Skank." I like that. A pitifully under-used word.

From the devil-skank's mouth(or pen) herself: "...I portray our lady as a strong Indigena/Chicana/Latina/Mexicana, and not as the young passive (head bowed with clasped hands) image that I grew up seeing in my home and in my community. The reason for this is because all the women I have known in my family and in community are very strong mujeres who struggle to nurture and provide for their families. I wanted to honor and respect their strength. And, I can only imagine that the mother of Jesus would be an incredibly strong mujer to raise and endure the pain of her son’s struggles.

I portray the angel carrying her on the half moon nude because men and women are beautiful children of our creator. Our bodies are beautiful. Among so much more, when I see women’s breasts I think of how beautiful they are… how my mother breast-fed me… and of nurturing… I can’t help but wonder what may be going through a person’s mind that thinks that breasts are not beautiful and nurturing, but something to be hidden.
My two friends who collaborated with me on this image are strong and beautiful women whom I respect and admire. Both are community activists and one teaches young people self esteem/culture through performance art.

The entire exhibition is beautiful. The curator, the exhibition designer, and the entire staff of the museum have done an amazing job of connecting traditional images with digital technology. At the reception and the panel discussion, I met many Nuevo Mexicanos who seemed to like the entire exhibition, including my work. Of course, not everyone will like my work and that’s alright..."

May the Lord have mercy on us and my our Lady's image stay pure in our minds

I myself am of Mexican-decent. The "strong Indigena/Chicana/Latina/Mexicana" women in my life were not whores or lesbians and did not defile the image of our Lady of Guadalupe. This super-pride filled woman does not represent true Mexican women. She is a disgusting mutant who has been impregnated with the most gruesome of mentalities.

I apologize on behalf of educated Mexican-Americans for this slanderous act and these grotesque words.

When I read these outrageous against Our Blessed Mother I am always amazed how patience Our Lord really is.

I imagine Him striking with His arm but Our Lady holding Him back.  Yet, someday we know He will strike the blow, and it will be well deserved as far as I am concerned.  In the meantime . . . .

That's totally unnecessary. No REAL Latino/Hispanic would do such a thing as this.

Agreed CS, however, sometimes people may perceive it this way. Plus- she was latina and 'attempted' to use that as part of her excuse for likening Our Lady of Guadalupe to her 'mujeres' in her life.

All the good work the Catholic Spaniards achieved is undone many times when Mexicans arrive at the states... so sad.
