CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — The organizers of a planned satanic mass at Harvard University say their purposes are purely educational, but the Roman Catholic church says participants are putting themselves ‘‘dangerously close to destructive works of evil.’’

The mass scheduled for Monday is organized by the Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club and is part of a series of events exploring different religious traditions.

The club said in a statement ‘‘the performance is part of a larger effort to explore the religious facets that continue to influence contemporary culture.’’

Harvard Extension School said it supports ‘‘the rights of our students and faculty to speak and assemble freely,’’ and noted that the group plans Shinto, Shaker and Buddhist events.

The Boston Archdiocese, however, says the mass mocks the Catholic Mass and is ‘‘contrary to charity and goodness.’’

A very fast runner in track and field is a "wicked fast runner." Someone who got a perfect 1600 on the SAT is "wicked smart." A sports car with an impressive paint job breaking the speed limit is a "wicked ride." You can't make this stuff up.

Just wait and see if this "Black Mass" doesn't follow the TLM, except backwards. It won't even vaguely resemble the NovusOrdo nonsense liturgy. And when they get to the Dominum non sum dignus, or the Sanctus or the Alleluias or the Kyrie they'll do them THREE times, of that you can be sure. See how "useless" the "repetition" is when the minions of satan are pleasing the devil.

As usual, the Comments are educational in their own way. My personal favorite is this one:

I guess the Ardioceses doesnt believe their faith is strong enough to withstand questioning the catholic faith in any way. How strong can a religion be if it can't withstand other views?

Seems to me transferring known pedophiles from one parish where they abused children to another parish where they could abuse even more children is a destructive work of evil, as is giving sanctuary in a basilica in Rome to the prelate who knowingly allowed this to happen.

Education has always been the demise of organized religions. When Copernicus provided evidence that the planets revolved around the sun (and not vice versa), the Catholic Church became quite nervous. Best the populous not know anything we don't want them to know. Talk about insecurity.

Hey Gil: Maybe the left likes it when someone says sensible things, but not when they say things that don't make sense. Perhaps it's not an "all or nothing" proposition and you can like some things a person/organization does, and not others?

I know that is probably hard for you to wrap your mind around... the brainwashing you folks get requires you to either love or hate the target. "Hate Obama and everything he does", "Hate all Democrats", "Hate Deval", etc, but even those folks do things that agree with your goals from time to time.

You might want to ponder on it for a while and see if you can understand the concept. It definitely does contrast what you've been taught for 30 years, so it might make your head hurt.

There is very little difference between the bizarre cultish incantation like rituals, between the Catholic Church and a black mass. In fact, a Catholic Mass is much more Pagan - since so many Catholic Churches like to have "relics" (BODY PARTS) in their altars. I bet there is more human remains used in a Catholic Church, than in a Satanic one. The Catholic Church lover to desecrate a body long after death, by holding on to body parts no different that a voodoo fetishist talisman. The Catholic Church = the largest Mafia and Cult in the world.

Why do you think Latinos are abandoning the Catholic Church in droves? Because as they become more affluent, and therefore more educated, they no longer need a cult that tells them they were born with sin and suffering brings them closer to god.

It's taken us what, 450 years to discover that Copernicus provided "evidence" that the PLANETS (plural) revolved (past tense) around the sun..." Really? Too bad MassGuy1 couldn't find any copy of that 'evidence'. If he has it, he had better be careful because it's probably really fragile, being as old as the first printing presses.
