  • Perhaps an inspiring and edifying story about a brave bishop who goes out on a limb and risks his career to suggest that "gαy marriage" is probably not an ideal expression of love, even though utmost care must be taken not to "unjustly discriminate" against "ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ persons?"

    Some one suggested that I should find some information and post along these lines, well here it is;

We cannot--we will not--comply with this unjust law," said Bishop Paul S. Loverde regarding the contraception mandate in Obamacare that tramples on the religious freedom of millions of Americans.

The letter was composed jointly by Bishop Loverde and Bishop Francis X DiLorenzo and has been reported by CNSNews.

At issue is the HHS mandate that contraceptives, abortifacients and sterilizations be paid for by employers so that women who seek these dangerous and deadly procedures will not have to suffer a co-pay.

The edict makes religious institutions and individuals responsible participants in the mass murder of millions of unborn children through procured abortion. Naturally, people of faith are in rebellion and ate refusing to comply with the law, preferring to pay a fine to Caesar than commit sin against God and deny the fundamental human right to life.

In March of 2012, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops made clear to the Obama administration that its HHS edict was both "unjust and illegal" and that it violated the religious freedom guaranteed under the First Amendment. The case is on its way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

However, a ruling on the matter will not be issued until next summer at best, so in the meantime religious employers and individuals are expected to start paying or face a stiff penalty. Those penalties are so severe, they will force many small employers out of business.

is ironic that Obamacare seeks to make deadly chemicals and procedures available free of charge, yet people will still have to pay for lifesaving procedures and medication. It demonstrates the infiltration of Satan into our governing process and the twisted thinking that goes on in the halls of the White House and Congress.

"People of faith cannot be made second-class citizens. We are already joined by our brothers and sisters of all faiths and many others of good will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build America's cities and towns, its infrastructure and institutions, its enterprise and culture, only to have their posterity stripped of their God-given rights," the bishops wrote in their letter.

Many Americans like certain provisions of Obamacare, such as the requirement that preexisting conditions be covered and that certain standards of care are maintained. However, they object to being compelled to consume health insurance against their choice (or face a penalty), and they most vehemently object to being compelled to pay for the dangerous procedures that some women choose to undergo because they have been severely influenced by the corruption of our culture.

Obamacare can be tolerated, but onerous provisions such as the individual mandate and the HHS edict must go. Not just because those policies raise the price of coverage and compel consumption (the government manipulates prices all the time), but because those policies smack of coercion and undermine the very principles our nation was founded upon.

Meanwhile, Bishops Loverde and DiLorenzo have made clear they intend to engage in civil disobedience - to the Obama regime. What will become of them and their resistance remains to be witnessed. their heroism is to be applauded. They set an example we should all be prepared to follow.

The bishops say this, but they will comply with the law.  I'd be willing to bet that his diocese is already complying with the law with regards to their lay (and probably mostly non-Catholic) employees.

  • After the invasion of the Netherlands by the Germans on  May 10, 1940, the Dutch hierarchy under Archbishop John  de Jong soon came into open conflict with National  Socialism. Catholics were forbidden under pain of  excommunication to participate in party activities  which violated Catholic principles. When the Catholic  press was ordered to publish news releases and  advertisements emanating from the nαzι public relations  bureau, de Jong moved to counteract the directive. He  asked Titus as spiritual director of the Catholic press  to visit editors with instructions to resist nαzι  propaganda. In making his request, the archbishop made  no secret of the danger of the mission, which Titus  equally understood. Shadowed by the Gestapo, he had  visited fourteen newspapers before he was taken into  custody on January 19, 1942. In prison at Scheveningen  he replied to questioning candidly and calmly, openly  admitting that he opposed National Socialism because it  was irreconcilable with his Catholic faith. At the  request of Captain Paul Hardegen, in charge of his  interrogation, Brandsma put into writing why the Dutch  people, and specifically Catholics, objected to nαzιsm.  As a result of his questioning Hardegen reported to his  superiors that Brandsma was dangerous to the cause and  should be confined for the duration of the war.

At Scheveningen Brandsma's contemplative spirit turned  his solitary cell into a haven of peace and joy. Happy  to be alone with Christ, he spent the time praying and  writing. To the long tradition of prison literature he  contributed <Mim Gel en dagorde van een gengene> (My  Cell), and he even began a biography of St. Teresa of  Avila, writing between the lines of a book. His often  printed and translated "Prayer Before a Picture of  Christ" [which] speaks the simple and humble language  of a lover:

  • When the Germans invaded Holland the Archbishop did not roll out the "red carpet" as Cardinal Theodor Innitzer had previously done in Vienna, an act that had infuriated Pope Pius XI. He said he didn't want to be another Innitzer and ordered his priests to refuse the sacraments to nαzι Dutchmen.[1] During the Second World War, he was one of the major leaders against the nαzι occupation of Netherlands. On July 26, 1942 Dutch bishops, including Archbishop Johannes de Jong, issued a decree that openly condemned nαzι deportations of Dutch workers and Jєωs. The nαzιs retaliated by seizing over 40,000 Catholics of Jєωιѕн descent, including Edith Stein.[2] The Vatican used Holland's experience to explain its silence during the years of the h0Ɩ0cαųst. [3]After the German retaliation, Sister Pasqualina Lehnert, Pius XII's housekeeper and confidante, said the Pope was convinced that while the Bishop’s protest cost forty thousand lives, a protest by him would mean at least two hundred thousand innocent lives that he was not ready to sacrifice. While politicians, generals, and dictators might gamble with the lives of people, a Pope could not.[4]

  • Germany sent it's military into Holland because she had to protect vital industry in the Ruhr. By going into Holland she merely beat the west to the punch. Britain had already dispatched troops into France and was preparing to build air bases in Holland and Belgium. By seizing Holland, Germany had a decisive advantage in striking Britain. The German navy also needed submarine bases west of the English channel. Going into Holland was nothing more than a sound military strategy, and one clearly planned by the allies as well.

The Luftwaffe focused on destroying enemy railroad and road networks. Extreme restrictions were placed on bombing cities, and were permitted only as necessary in reprisals for attacks upon Reich cities. Orders were also given that where no opposition is encountered, the invasion was to be given the character of a peaceful occupation.

Why do we posit that Edith Stein was arrested because she was Jєωιѕн? Edith Stein had a lengthy history of organizing Marxist activity. After she became a Carmelite nun she continued to write books attacking the hierarchical structure of the Church as well as her strong feminist views. Outside of those continuing Marxist and ιnѕυrrєcтισnist activity, the Jєωs who were accepted into Catholic clergy were left alone in compliance with the concordant Hitler signed with Pius XII (who the Germans distrusted as they believed he had 4 Jєωιѕн grandparents).

Before we celebrate Pius XII's heroism of silence, we should consider the following: he was also silent about the pogroms inflicted upon ethnic Germans in Poland and the Sudentenland. He was silent about the atrocities of the allied occupation of Germany in which 4 million people were forcibly starved to death. Ike denied food sent by the Red Cross and returned it to warehouses where it rotted. He was silent about the rapes of over 2 million German women many being so victimized 30 or more times a day in some cases over the altars of Catholic churches... Those who became pregnant died as their bodies could not withstand starvation and support another life as well. He was silent over Ike's orders to Patton to forcibly remove Germans from their homes and turn those residences over to Jєωs. But he was quick to order crucifixes to be placed over ѕуηαgσgυєs to spare them from Axis bombings. Again, Hitler upheld his agreement with Pius XII.

And why was St. Maximilian Kolbe murdered by the nαzιs with lethal injection, asshole? Was he a Marxist Jєω?

Why were millions of Polish and Russian women raped by German soldiers, without repercussions?

Why were millions of Poles and Slavs brutally murdered by nαzι soldiers?

Was Archbishop Lefebvre's father, murdered by the nαzιs, a Bolshevik? Was Engelbert Dolfuss?

Don't forget that Titus Brandsma was also arrested and murdered by the nαzιs when he at teh bequest of Archbishop Jong went to the different Catholic publishers and explained the Churches opposition to them printing propaganda that originated in the nαzιs.

  • A plan to recite the Rosary for the cause of same-sex marriage is “blasphemous,” Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois has said.

Catholics lobbying for legal recognition of same-sex marriage in Illinois have announced plans to gather at the city’s cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The bishop announced that anyone wearing the rainbow sash favored by the gαy-rights movement will be denied entrance to the cathedral, and anyone who begins vocal prayers for same-sex marriage will be asked to leave.

“It is blasphemy to show disrespect or irreverence to God or to something holy,” the bishops said. “Since Jesus clearly taught that marriage as created by God is a sacred institution between a man and a woman (see Matthew 19:4-6 and Mark 10:6-9), praying for same-sex marriage should be seen as blasphemous and as such will not be permited in the cathedral."

  • Poche is right.  There were a lot of heroic bishops in the pre-Vatican II days.

But then again, a lot of the revolutionaries who turned the church upside down in Vatican II were, you got it, pre-Vatican II bishops.

  • Many will be familiar with the Mater hospital in Dublin agreeing to kill babies by abortion. A Bishop did speak out. The Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska. I refer to Dublin Ireland and not Dublin Ohio or another Dublin.

In the recent Bishop's Statement for 'Day for Life' in Ireland no mention is made of the abortion law or the Mater hospital.

Who is surprised? A few weeks ago, I stopped a Sister of Mercy and asked her why her order had sold out. The Mater is their hospital. I told her their schools are Catholic in name only and their hospitals will allow the murder of the innocent.

She objected to my criticism of their schools and was dismayed by the decision of the hospital board. She said it was because the sisters are no longer involved. She appreciated my viewpoint and thanked me.

I made it clear I was on her side and many Catholics have defended her order in particular in relation to the Magdalen homes. The Magdalen homes are used by the enemy to attack their order and Catholicism in general.

Whilst she was wearing a veil and dressed as religious sister ought to she wasn't happy with me calling her order Vatican II liberals.

We left on good terms though. She realises her order is dying out.

  • It has been said that several of the Bishops in Ireland are in the Masonic Lodge. It has been suggested the Bishop Emeritus of Cloyne John Magee and the Archbishop of Dublin are in the lodge. Speculation of course.

Bishop Magee would be well aware of who murdered Pope John Paul I.

The hierarchy in Ireland are to a degree in the pocket of the enemy.

Exactly.  I used talk about how pro-life our Church and bishops are.  But then I'd see them repeatedly allow pro-abortion politicians receive communion!

    Words....actions. Too often they contradict.

  • I guess we have to just wait and see who does what.
I remember a while back, the board of directors at st. Joseph's in phoenix, Arizona apporoved a "therapeutic abortion" and the bishop of phoenix declared the entire board excommunicated and denied the "catholic" stamp to the hospital and ordered all catholic resources pulled from the hospital immediately.
The reason I remember is because my not at all catholic sisters couldn't believe that a catholic hospital would allow an abortion, let alone actually participate in aiding and abetting one! Even in their very protestant minds, they still felt the bishop, olmsted, I think, did the right thing. If he had the power to, he would have shut them down entirely. As it stands, very few women choose to have dealings with the hospital at all now. Their maternity and nicu wards have almost no funding anymore. No one wants to put their money into the maternity ward of a hospital that kills babies. They go to "approved" hospitals instead.

The same thing will happen with bad bishops. The good ones won't back down, the bad ones will wear the rainbow sash. We just really need bishops that will excommunicate bad priests. It's a lot more difficult to dispose a bishop than it is to depose a priest, so he'd have a leg to stand on. If we can get an archbishop who's faithful, we would be even more successful.  But good, orthodox priests are hard to find, not to mention the egos of ambitious bishops gumming up the works.
We should just keep looking out, and encouraging bishops to be faithful servants.
    Matthew 6:34
" Be not therefore solicitous for to morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof."
