Some backstory for those who don't know:

This is St. Mary's Church in Melrose, MN - about 40 minutes west of St. Cloud, or about an hour thirty from Minneapolis. It was ravaged by a fire last year and there's two sides conflicted over its future. One wants to remodel, one wants to replace.

All the parishioners and people with history or Sacraments received there (which are a lot, it's been open since the 1800s) want to remodel. It's almost unanimous. Bishop Kettler wants to replace with a "Spirit of Vatican II" church and they were LIVID. His whole demeanor is also reprehensible. Not how a supposed Prince of the Church should be acting.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

This is true.  May I add:  There were letters in the local paper from a trad Catholic trying to alert these people to how it was likely this fire was deliberate and with the intention of leveling this venerable, traditional church in order to replace it with a Vat II monstrosity.  The people here are often/mostly? of very Polish/German descent, whose Catholic forebears left the Old World to settle in Minnesota's wilds, mainly as heroic farmers.  As soon as they could do so, they built permanent churches.  And they did not spare on the best they could do - these churches, some "in the middle of nowhere" - are absolute Jєωels of Catholicity and devotion.  Some have stained-glass windows that any church, anywhere, could be proud of and few could emulate. Other than the "table" in the sanctuary, these churches remain untouched.   They are, unfortunately, in the hands of the Novus Ordo - but because they are so Catholic they still remain offensive to the Modernists, and also are sources of the people remaining often conservative or too in touch with their traditions. Minnesota is a hotbed for the Conspiracy - the headquarters of the Communist Party USA is there, and who of us "old folks" don't remember all the obnoxious Novus Ordo booklets and music and art coming out of St. John's in Minnesota at the time the changes were taking place.  Let us pray that this controversy leads at least a few, if not all, of these Novus Ordo people to opening their eyes and seeing what is behind the attack on their church -- that their permitting the Holy Mass to be robbed from them to begin with, has now led to the building being lit and now, possibly torn down.  They don't assign lightweights to Minnesota - this Bishop Kettler is a real professional.

Merry, you know much.  I ran across an old book, with onion skin and a picture of New Oder (mess) dated 1940.  I could not recall if it was Minnesota or Missouri. You make me say, AHA!  Looks like Minnesota!  This book is in a safe place and I don't think I will ever get a hold of it, to prove one way or the other.  A traditional church is harboring books, so as not to have had them destroyed.  It was brought to my attention in 2000.  I was shocked to think, 1940.

Songbird - I had a similar experience.  In the 80's or 90's, I ran across a book in a trad library called (something like), "The Mass of the Future."  I don't remember all I read, but I remember the pictures.  I believe all or some were taken at a location (church or Catholic college chapel) in Nebraska, and it was you might say, Novus Ordo practice.  There was in particular, a photo of a couple coming up the aisle bringing the "Offertory gifts" - a la the New Mass. The kicker was that the lady was dressed in fashionable 1940's attire - that kind of dress, that kind of hat.  They looked very devout - but don't be fooled, we know what it was about.  They could pull this stuff off in obscure locations like this one, so everything was "just right" when the actual time for Novus Ordo implementation was to take place.  The mouse trap was perfected by then.  Guided by Satan, these Modernists thought of everything, and had it all down pat.
