You can almost feel the East Coast critic here, Sheri Linden, orgasming as she pays breathless homage to the “as well-crafted as it is profoundly alarming” pseudo-war film.

Congressional Feeding Trough Remains Open and Well-Stocked Despite Government Shutdown

The decrepit fiends of The Swamp are out in full force putting on a big show of solidarity with all of their subjects constituents left out in the rain when the gears of state grind to a halt.
What they rarely, if ever, mention is that their paychecks arrive regardless of whether the government gets shut down or not, or for how long.

“Over in the Legislative Branch, the support staff for Congress would be affected. “During a funding gap, pay for congressional employees would not be disbursed if there is no appropriation to fund legislative branch activities,” the CRS says. Staffers deemed critical would need to work because they are needed to “support Congress with its constitutional responsibilities or those necessary to protect life and property.”
But members of Congress will still get paychecks, under two parts of the Constitution. Article I, Section 6, says that congress members “shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States.” The 27th Amendment also forbids any change in the compensation rate for Congress during a current term.”

Here is Democratic Whip of the U.S. House of Representatives, Katherine Clark, describing the denial of millions of Americans the benefits they have been conditioned to rely on, as points of political “leverage”:

“Of course, there will be, you know, families that are going to suffer. We take that responsibility very seriously. But it is one of the few leverage times we have.”

One can argue about the merits of the Democrat demands; extending Affordable Care Act tax credits, although by no means a permanent solution to the ongoing controlled demolition of the middle class by neoliberal policymakers or the farce that is the so-called healthcare system, would help working-class taxpayers barely scraping by significantly in the short term.
But the essential issue is that the Congress members playing the cards don’t actually have any chips in the game; it’s all House money, as it were. The suffering of their constituents, as laid bare in the above quote, is just another point of “leverage” in the political games they play (with other people’s money).
From a broader perspective, in the same way that the CIA budget doubled in the two decades after the greatest intelligence failure of all time, 9/11, the career success of your standard Congressman is wholly untethered from whatever results he does or doesn’t produce for his constituents. As long as the august Senator plays the game right, as long as he services his actual constituency, the donor class, he wins — no matter how much his theoretical constituents suffer.

This entire spectacle is the product of a political system in which the governing authorities and the governed occupy two entirely separate castes of society, with little to no intercaste mobility.
The members of the subordinate underclass who do break the mold, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, either sell their souls on arrival (like AOC) or else are quickly shunned just as soon as their colleagues catch the slightest whiff of populist sentimentality.
This is class war — but an asymmetric one, waged by the permanent governing class against the (increasingly permanent) underclass. It’s socialism for them, as they feed off of government largesse and abuse the mechanisms of state to enrich themselves, and bootstrap capitalism for you.

There sits in Congress a proposed constitutional amendment, championed Rep. Eli Crane, that would halt, with no backpay, all Congressional salaries during any government shutdown.

“As many of you are aware, the federal government officially entered a shutdown yesterday. While the House of Representatives passed a funding extension through November 21, 2025, the measure still requires 60 votes in the U.S. Senate before heading to the President’s desk.
Unfortunately, only two Democrats and one Independent currently support this effort, meaning the government will remain shut down until five more Democrats vote in favor of the bill.
In the meantime, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) has requested that his pay be withheld for the duration of the shutdown. He believes it is inappropriate to receive a salary while many Americans are furloughed or facing delayed paychecks.
Furthermore, Rep. Crane has cosponsored a constitutional amendment introduced by Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC), which would prohibit lawmakers from receiving pay during government shutdowns. It would also preclude Members of Congress from receiving any back pay afterward.”

While laudable on its own merits, however, this bill is by no means a panacea for what ails the country; the real gold mine for these people is not their relatively paltry salaries (about $112,000/yr for rank-and-file) but all of the insider trading they’re allowed to do with impunity and all of the cushy board positions and lobbying gigs they’re awarded — and their family members; see Hunter Biden — by their donors after their loyal “public” service.
Nancy Peℓσѕι didn’t become a hundred-millionaire cashing her government checks; she made that money parlaying her government position for private gain.
The entire governing structure is broken, in that modern D.C. in no way represents anything close to what the Founding Fathers envisioned.
On the contrary, it more resembles the predatory, parasitical foreign regime from which they liberated themselves at great personal peril.

‘Social Infertility’: Where Biomedical Profiteering Intersects Social Justice™

“The global surrogacy* market was estimated at USD 22.4 billion in 2024. The market is expected to grow from USD 27.9 billion in 2025 to USD 201.8 billion in 2034, at a CAGR of 24.6% during the forecast period,” per Global Market Insights — nearly a ten-fold increase over less than a decade.
*”Global surrogacy” being a euphemism for economically endowed ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs growing children in Third World women’s wombs so as to commandeer them upon birth — ostensibly to raise them as their own, but realistically for whatever possibly depraved purposes tickle their fancy.
A whole sub-genre of social media posts has sprung up in recent years in which progressive ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ couples pose with newly purchased babies — in the same manner that big game hunters pose with the bucks they poach — using them as tools for harvesting social clout and living out their fantasy of having a “family,” with society at large expected to play along with the rouse or risk being labeled homophobic.
(Here’s ultra-progressive Pete Buttigieg, for instance, recounting how he bought a pair of black babies for a “discount.”)
These “fathers” are what the medical literature, in the service of advancing the LGBTQ4GF150+++™ cause and the biomedical industry, has termed “socially infertile.”

By definition, of course, “social infertility” is not a medical condition; it’s a social one.
But shoehorning “social infertility” into the medical literature as an official diagnosis guarantees a boon of services available to the LGBTQ “community” that were previously reserved for legacy couples experiencing actual infertility.

This includes factors like sɛҳuąƖ orientation, relationship status, and life circuмstances, which might necessitate fertility treatments. Additionally, in 2022, Illinois updated its legal language around infertility to be more inclusive of the LGBTQIA community and single people, recognizing one of the definitions of infertility as “a person’s inability to reproduce either as a single individual or with a partner without medical intervention” (Illinois General Assembly 2022). Thus, the medical and moral justification is laid for legitimizing and subsidizing an industry in which reproductively healthy, capable people in deviant — “deviant” not necessarily being a moral judgment, just an accurate descriptor — sɛҳuąƖ relationships purchase children, mainly from the impoverished women of the developing world in desperate need of cash.

Sacrifice Your Christmas Tree to Support AI Industry, Fox News Urges Viewers

(Of course, the above quote is slightly inapplicable to the subject matter because, in addition to knowing the value of nothing, cable news economists also often fail to grasp basic economics. See: perennial failure Jim Cramer)
In the context of effectively urging the government to seize private property, including a Christmas tree farm, in order to construct an AI power line through Maryland, Fox Business host Dagen McDowell recently admonished viewers to opt for plastic trees this holiday season instead of real ones.

“Dagen McDowell, a co-host of the “The Big Money Show” on Fox Business, recently flaunted her zeal for AI — and her distaste for holiday cheer — by declaring that a beloved local Christmas tree farm should be sacrificed to make way for data center infrastructure.
McDowell was defending a proposed plan for a 67-mile long transmission line running through Maryland that would bring more power to the booming AI data centers in northern Virginia. The $424 million Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project is facing opposition from farmers and other property owners whose land is in its path, including the owners of a Maryland Christmas tree farm. Critics argue that Maryland would be acting as an “extension cord” for the AI data centers, seeing no real benefits from the infrastructure while enduring a massive eyesore…
“I think that the United States of America would gladly just saw off Maryland and kick it into the Atlantic Ocean if you don’t like it,” McDowell said. “If there is a need for electricity generation and a conduit like power lines to bring electricity to a densely populated area of business and growth like northern Virginia, then it’s not about AI, it’s actually about economic growth for the United States.”
“Number two, it’s a tree farm! Not growing food,” McDowell continued. “The alternative would be some liberal’s gonna put some giant solar panels on that land, and you’re not gonna be growing any Christmas trees either.”
Amid McDowell’s Scrooge-esque screed — which seems stunningly hypocritical coming from a network that has long accused liberals of waging a “war on Christmas” — the poor tree farm had at least one sympathetic voice among the Fox co-hosts. “This farm is going to lose all of its aesthetic appeal as a result of this,” Brian Brenberg argued, saying he’s seen the “gross-looking” transmission towers in person.
“There will be transmission lines that have to go through developments and farms,” McDowell decreed. “That’s the very nature of a growing economy. Everybody needs to get on board.”
“You know what?” she said, eliciting groans from her co-hosts. “Buy a fake tree!””

To the extent that it’s still in business, buoyed by pharmaceutical ads for diabetes injections and erection pills, the Fox News conceit of folksy nationalism apparently still enchants what remains of its dwindling and rapidly aging viewership.
But the reality is that the producers and on-air talent, such as it is, are almost all millionaires living in the lap of luxury in Washington or Manhattan.
Insofar as any of them actually came from the flyover country they now professionally pander to, they left that world a long time ago, and in so doing abandoned any real affinity they might have once had for it.
The amount of soul-selling one must perform — in addition, for the bimbos in miniskirts, to sucking Roger Ailes’ decrepit penis back when he was still around— to get oneself a slot on a Fox Business panel!

Had that segment aired on MSNBC or whatever other outlet coded “liberal” — if a neon-haired progressive goon in a septum ring and not a Fox News host were demanding people give up Christmas trees to support some pet industry or social engineering project like Climate Change™ — the righteous conservative reaction would obviously be blind rage.
But when Fox Business does it, that’s apparently… what?
Hard-nosed pragmatism?
Which was the true conservative in “It’s a Wonderful Life” — George Bailey or Mr. Potter?
The oligarch ruling class, and its mouthpiece Sean Hannity and Co., would have you believe it’s the latter.
Perhaps I misinterpreted the entire message of the movie.

As for me, although I don’t have an army of lobbyists like the AI industry does, if I did, I’d vote with my bribes (campaign donations) for more trees and less AI data centers rather than the other way around.

Former FDA vaccine advisor and top vaccine pimp Paul Offit, speaking with Big Pharma twink mascot “Doctor Mike,” recently discussed why myocarditis in boys receiving the COVID shots and blood clots in the brain from the failed J&J shot were “very small prices to pay.”

(As an aside, as a public service announcement, trust in celebrity doctors who use the branding formula “Dr. [First name]” in order to try to establish some weird parasocial relationship in order to sell their audiences pharmaceutical products is always, without exception, misplaced.)

“You’re always, always waiting for the other shoe to drop. And it did drop.
I mean, with the mRNA vaccines, there was myocarditis, which was inflammation of heart muscle, primarily in boys 16-29 years of age, primarily after second dose, primarily within 4 days, but generally it was transient and self-resolving, so it really wasn’t that bad.
That was a very small price to pay, I think, for that vaccine.
But you had J&J’s vaccine, which we reviewed in February of 2021, the adenovirus vector vaccine. And that was, again, about a 30,000-person study. So you saw 15,000 people got that vaccine, then millions of people got it. And it was found to be a cause of clotting, including severe clotting, including clotting in brain, that ultimately drove that vaccine off the market by March of 2023.

And people then lose trust, which is in part sort of why I wrote this book, because I just think people just have to have realistic expectations of the fact that you’re going to learn as you go.”

Perhaps never before has the public been treated to this kind of admission, couched as some kind of high-minded philosophical position, that the high priests of The Science™ have no regard for the people whose killing at needle-point they facilitate.

This “vaxx-them-all-and-let-God-sort-them-out” ethos is, of course, by no means confined to one lone sociopath like Paul Offit who somehow slipped through the cracks; it’s endemic to the Public Health™ apparatus.
In fact, sociopathy is a de facto job requirement for anyone hoping to move through the ranks of the CDC or FDA.

In the same way that legacy media outlets reward lying and punish truth-telling, Paul Offit didn’t climb to the top of the hierarchy in spite of his scuмbaggery; his scuмbaggery was the defining character trait that got him to the ball.
Offit’s comments echo similar ones made way back in 2021 as the FDA deliberated approving the COVID shots to five-year-olds, when FDA advisor Dr. Eric Rubin declared that “we’re never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it [to five-year-olds]. That’s just the way it goes.”
