  • If the vaccines are as effective as they claim, then what do the vaccinated have to fear from the unvaccinated?

    It's all about control.
People who have been fully vaccinated against a particular disease have nothing to fear from those who are not vaccinated.  Example:  I'm older, so I had and recovered from the measles.  I cannot get or give the measles to anyone, just like a person who is vaccinated for measles.  Those at risk for contracting measles are the unvacinnated who haven't had the measles.  In certain locales, the measles is spreading amongst those who haven't had the sickness or the vaccine.  There are two cases of measles, and one of mumps at my workplace, the sick all being unvaccinated children.  Parents of unvacinnated children, plus adult staff, either unvaccinated or never having had the diseases were offered and pushed to receive free vaccines or booster shots.  I turned down the offer because having survived measles and mumps confers lifelong immunity.  I'm at no risk of getting either, and it's nor possible for me to spread either.

  • And, then, many of the diseases they vaccinate against aren't even particularly serious; some are rarely received except through sexual transmission.  So if you don't mind having your kids get chicken pox or measles, and if you keep from fornicating or committing adultery, there's no big deal with regard to the majority of these.

  • Yes, all the doctors in our area require all child well visits be made or they drop you from their practice. I found out the hard way.

It's becoming a common practice.  Now the true reason is mostly to ensure continuity of revenue, but the stated reason is that they have a better baseline from which to treat certain illnesses.

This sounds like an undersupply of patients or an oversupply of doctors. Aren't you better off not having a doctor like that.
Regarding Chicken Pox, I used to work in a girl's boarding school where the boarders used to get chicken pox repeatedly. The nurse, one of the old school, just couldn't understand it because once you had it you weren't supposed to get it again. The majority (and maybe all) were vaccinated!

I think it’s got to be an over supply of doctors. The one I went to wasn’t high in demand because she offered vaccines to those who asked but never to those you stated they didn’t want them. The strictness of the well checks I think is to also monitor for abuse in children too...
My now 4 year old is notorious for being bruised all over. She’s a climber, and up for any adventure.... but when she was one I took her to a different doctor and than made me feel frightened because they kept remarking her bruised cheek she got from falling trying to learn to walk.

It is not the role of doctors to "monitor for abuse" or to police parents. But that could explain why you "need" "well checks".

    Completely agree!
But you can get a serious charge of neglect if you don’t make the appointments either. Which is why I thought they were great... we followed the rules, but had the choice to vaccinate or not. It was never pushed down our throats.

  • The medical community is out of control.  Period.  In my state of PA, parents are often charged with dental neglect because they don't have their kids teeth cleaned enough or because they ask for a second opinion.  I had a pediatrics office threaten me 8 years ago because I refused to take my infant in for "wellness" checks.  I simply told them, I had no reason to bring her in and I wouldn't.  She has never had a vaccine of any kind and hasn't been to the doctor once in over 8 years.  She eats well, has a healthy weight, gets plenty of exercise.  But I did shop around for a family practice physician who doesn't force vaccines on kids and doesn't insist on yearly health visits.  I take my children to the doctor only when necessary.  And I will continue to do so.  But a lot of people don't have this luxury or are afraid they will lose their children to foster care if they don't follow the "rules."  There was an Amish family near here that actually fled the country into Canada because they refused chemo therapy for their daughter.  They somehow managed to sneak her out of the hospital and in the dark of night crossed the border to an Amish community there.  They remained until their daughter was better, after treating her themselves with diet and natural remedies.  It's horrific how long and strong the arms of the Medical Industry are.  If you aren't planning on playing by their rules, be prepared to defend yourself.  I am fortunate to live in a state that threatens things like this, but really has a hard time proving neglect.  But some parents do end up in long legal battles over the issue.

Absolutely not true.  Modern vaccines are not 100% effective.  Even a horribly-written Yahoo article admits that modern vaccines are only partially effective.

  • Just curious...how has your flu season been? I'm in hospitals 3 days a week and I have only seen one or two cases, even among high risk elderly or people with serious pre-existing and immune issues. I do know of a few cases of small children who have had a pretty rough time with it at home, (but over in a week.)
Apparently 40% of people ( I don't know how they acquire these statistics, but it was on Drudge) refused the flu vax this year. Maybe that's why flu season was so slow and under reported.
There seems to be an "incidental" correlation between a media-hyped flu season, getting the shot , high infection rate and severity of symptoms.

Illinois says it’s like that too, but hardly does anything really to protect the children.
The medical industry used to work for us, and now we are slaves to it.

Absolutely, but they refuse to admit that in public.  So they end up contradicting themselves.  "Why are the vaccinated afraid of the unvaccinated?  They're protected after all."  Ah, well, hum, haw, uhm, ...  anti-vaxers are evil and endanger everyone else (implicit ... because vaccines don't work)
