  • This is a very important article.  Think about it!   Will the U.S. Military, like the U.S. Government under the Democrats, soon be controlled by perverts?   What are the implications for the nation?  Will the non-pervert veterans who leave the military  then become the nucleus for the revolution which is bound to come if present policies continue.   All the more reason to elect only strong, moral, conservative Republicans in the next election, and thus continue the work done by patriots last November.  The restoration of the Republic and its Constitution is necessary and has only just begun.  The alternative is continued moral, economic and cultural decline, and the loss of the of our country and our freedom.       ---  Dr. John Grady

Army officer won't order 'gαy' indoctrination
Asks to be relieved of command over repeal of  ban in military

    By Brian Fitzpatrick

WASHINGTON, DC - DECEMBER 22: U.S. President Barack Obama (C) signs legislation repealing military policy law, while former Marine Staff Sgt. Eric Alva (2nd-L), former U.S. Navy Commander Zoe Dunning (L), House Speaker Nancy Peℓσѕι (D-CA) (2nd-R) and Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA) (R) stand nearby during a ceremony December 22, 2010 in Washington, DC. President Obama signed into law a bill repealing the don't ask, don't tell law against gαys serving openly in the military. (Photo by Mark Wilson/Getty Images)

Repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy by Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress is already damaging the U.S. military.

An Army lieutenant colonel has asked to be relieved of command rather than order his troops to go through pro-ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ indoctrination following the repeal of the policy, which required ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs to keep silent about their sɛҳuąƖ preference.
Currently the commander of a battalion-sized unit in the Army National Guard, the officer also has threatened to resign his commission rather than undergo "behavior modification" training intended to counter his religious convictions about ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.
The soldier sent the following letter to his commanding officer:

Subject: Request for Relief from Command due to Personal Moral Conflict with New ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ Policy

        1. I respectfully request to be relieved of Command of XXX Squadron, XXX Cavalry prior to new policy implementation subsequent to the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." My personal religious beliefs and moral convictions do not permit me to treat ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity as an acceptable lifestyle, compatible with military service, any more than adultery, illicit drug use, or criminal activity. I believe this lifestyle runs counter to good order and discipline in military units, and I refuse to sacrifice my belief system, protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, in order to fall in line with the command policy that will logically follow. This new policy will undoubtedly include mandatory sensitivity training as well as same-sex partner inclusion in Family Readiness Group activities and integration into the full spectrum of other military benefits, as well as a whole new category of discrimination standards and investigative procedures. I will not, as a commander, put my signature on a training schedule or other docuмent recognizing or legitimizing any of these things that contradict my personal beliefs.

        2. I would like to remain in the XXX Army National Guard until I am eligible for retirement (at 20 years and 0 days), which would be in the late summer of 2012, but on grounds of my religious beliefs, I will not attend sensitivity or behavior modification training consequential to this policy change, even if it means disciplinary action. I regret that I cannot continue to serve in the military further, but feel that my efforts would be insincere because my heart will no longer be in it."

"I will not be the person who forces this training on my soldiers," the officer, whose identity was being protected, told WND. He plans to go on the record as soon as he discusses his request with his chain of command.
The officer said he's aware of other officers who intend to resign their commissions.
"These people want to serve. I want to serve. I love my job, but I can't do this job once they begin to implement this policy,"  he told WND.
Under the terms of the DADT repeal, the armed forces will not be permitted to allow open ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity in the service until the president, secretary of defense and head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff can certify that terminating DADT will not impair military readiness. During the transition period that will precede certification, the military plans to require servicemen to attend mandatory training sessions intended to change their attitudes toward ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.
"Very few soldiers are fine with open ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs in the service," said the officer. "I cannot believe the numbers jibe with what was published in the previous survey," referring to a study commissioned by the Pentagon to assess whether the military could safely repeal DADT.
"I did not give up my constitutional rights and freedom of religion when I joined the military. I don't believe in subjecting myself to all of the behavior modification and sensitivity training. They're going to try to push the position that this is an acceptable lifestyle."
Beyond concerns about violating his own conscience and the beliefs of his soldiers, the officer predicts several additional adverse consequences to repealing the military's ban on open ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.
"I don't believe the steps they're taking allow a commander to maintain good order and discipline in a military unit," the officer told WND. "DADT was a compromise to allow ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs to serve as long as they kept it to themselves. Now they'll be able to throw their lifestyle in everybody's face and commanders won't be able to do anything about it."
The officer also predicted problems with retention and recruitment:
"I think it might not have an immediate, huge impact, but as enlistments expire you'll get people who vote with their feet and leave the service, and I don't believe the recruiting effort is going to offset the amount of people that leave. The military historically attracts a more conservative group of people who have certain principles and beliefs and swear an oath to the Constitution."
As previously reported by WND, some experts predict as many as a quarter of Americans in military service will resign or leave earlier than planned because of the advent of open ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity. Nearly half of the Marine Corps respondents to the Pentagon survey said they would consider leaving the service earlier than planned.
The officer also predicted growing security problems as ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs become more prevalent in the service.
"One of the Army values is selfless service. Placing the good of the nation above personal desires is an essential trait of a good soldier, who may be called upon to give his or her life in the nation's defense. When you start trying to attract people who are so self-centered that they put living their lifestyle out in the open above the needs of their country and national defense, then you have a really dangerous combination. That's when you get instances like PFC Bradley Manning, who is a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ. Because of his personal beliefs and bitterness toward the military he decided to leak 150,000 sensitive wires that have done irreparable damage to our nation."
Manning, an openly gαy soldier, reportedly sent many thousands of sensitive docuмents to the Wikileaks website out of anger over the military's ban on open ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.

  • Terribly sad. Just like the NO Church, the good people will be forced to either compromise principle or leave. I see no way to reverse our decline. It is quickly affecting all areas of life and all institutions. We have been sliding in one direction only since the 1960's.

What is frustrating to me is the pace. If things are going to Hell, then let's just get it over with and get there already. The only thing worse than hitting bottom is having to frustratingly watch as your country ever so slowly slides to oblivion as the idiots around you refuse to recognize it.

  • I'm sorry but his "protest" is pathetic. Its like a general giving up his "job" in protest and keeping his large pension and getting a great job at fox news or a defense company for 6 to 7 figures. I am sorry if I do not idolize these modern "heroes".

Too bad, Stevus. Most of the time when a society collapses it does it in slow motion. The history books try to put dates on everything so the kids have something to memorize for the test, but the truth is that declines in civilizations are usually a long time in coming. Sometimes it happens like the proverbial frog boiling little by little in the pot; it goes so slowly that the majority of the sheeple don't even realize it. The words of the prophets go unheeded. Eventually, it's too late.

Many still say about the U.S. that "no way, it could never happen here; we have the best infrastructure, the highest incomes, the best-educated populace, freedom, liberty, democracy..." Even some Trad patriotards say stuff like that. Look at that idiot poster "Scipio a" on FE (and here, occasionally) and his wife. Yes, sir, God Bless America!

Well, God helps those who help themselves. The above ideas about the USA were true at one time. Now, other countries have pulled ahead or are in the process of doing so. Our kids routinely come in 30-50th place in the world in competence in science, math, and history. In Physical Education I wouldn't be surprised if we come in last! Our infrastructure is crumbling, income levels are falling, debts are mounting up...manufacturing and agriculture have been outsourced...even our much-vaunted service industry is moving overseas.

The part about the "freedom" and "democracy" really cracks me up. I live overseas and have lived in and visited several other countries. Many Americans seem to have the quite mistaken notion that everywhere else in the world people creep through the streets in fear, or remain locked in their homes day and night, talking in whispers and listening to Voice of America broadcasts at low volume at night on their shortwaves. Sure, that's probably true of North Korea or Cold War-era East Germany, but the idea that most people outside of the USA live that way today is side-splittingly laughable.

Some of these people need to wake up and smell the coffee that has been thrown into their face.

  • Sedetrad,

It doesn't look like he'll be getting a pension or medical benefits. He doesn't have 20 years and the National Guard won't take him because ge refuses to comply with DADT. Depending on whether disciplinary action is taken, he will get anything from a severance pay to absolutely nothing.

  • The Army is already stock full of foreigners - adding ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs and those who support ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ rights will mean that the armed forces are more willing to turn its weapons on the American people.

  • And the Armed Forces go along with this travesty. The military has been so infected with secularism that they have no will to fight. They will blindly follow DADT without putting up so much as a fight. They deserve what they get.

Oops! I was reading the new responses to this thread and I noticed that I was unexcusably harsh here, and I apologize to Scipio if he reads this. I should have said that the super patriotic type attitude itself is ridiculous, not Scipio himself. Scipio makes quite intelligent remarks on a wide variety of other subjects. I was wrong in labelling him as an idiot. I was also wrong in getting worked up over this subject. God alone will decide our fate and that of our country and of every country. I need to remove the plank from my own eye before railing against the speck in another's.

Our supposed Catholic unity should count for something, especially in these trying times.
