JFK had some interesting words about Hitler in his diary entry for August 1, 1945. This was published in Prelude to Leadership.

That diary entry probably was due to his father Joe Kennedy being anti-war and also JFK being a member of America First opposed to World War II.

Actually, what is considered a "liberal" today would have been considered an anarchist in the 1960s.  What is considered a "conservative" today would have been considered a liberal in the 1960s.

"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and [liberals]. The business of [liberals] is to go on making mistakes. The business of Conservatives is to prevent mistakes from being corrected."  --  G.K. Chesterton

(The original quote called them "progressives", but progressives simply started calling themselves liberals when the progressive label became unpopular.)
