  • He still refers to "Saint" John Paul II in the OP.

Rom 5: 20 - "But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more."

Well, the only reference I saw was to the "National Shrine of Saint John Paul II" ... which is in fact the formal name of the place in question, so it's hard to read anything into that.  I imagine if he had said "Wojtyla's Shrine", Trump wouldn't know what he was talking about.

Bergoglio is doing a great service by initiating the wakeup process for many conservative Novus Ordites.  Some of them then harken back to the glory days of Benedict XVI.  But if they start peeling back the layers, they'll find that many of the core errors of Bergoglio were already there in Wojtyla and Ratzinger.  We can keep praying that the wakeup process of Msgr. Vigano will continue to progress.

Thus far he has condemned Modernism, Freemasony, referred to Francis as Bergoglio, attributed much of the destruction to Vatican II, and has written of a counterfeit church that is being set up.  This is definitely a good start, and he appears to be on the right trajectory.

Instead of criticizing and shooting down Vigano, he would be better served by encouragement and being additional hints to keep digging.

    All fair points.

I trust that the American people are united with me and you in prayer to Almighty God.United against the Invisible Enemy of all humanity, I bless you and the First Lady, the beloved American nation, and all men and women of good will.

Sounds very ecuмenical to me.  But I said that about his "Appeal" too when it came out.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

We need to stop attacking this man.  He's making great progress and his eyes seem to be opening.  If someone was in the process of converting to Traditional Catholicism, we would not attack and shoot down every taint of Modernism that might remain.  This might be imprudent and an obstacle to their conversion.  Once firmly solidified in the faith, then these things can be battled.  Very few of us are untainted to some extent by Modernism.  Bishop Williamson used to say that all of us, himself included, are probably tainted due to the years of corruption.  I will give him the benefit of the doubt and will support him when he speaks the truth, which he has been.  So what if he's not 100% yet and has not yet declared the See to be vacant.  If he senses hostility from Traditional Catholics, rather than encouragement, right out of the gate, he could come to see Traditional Catholics as adversaries and end up pushing back.

Bishop Fellay regularly makes ecuмenical-sounding statements, and Bishop Vigano was TRAINED AS A DIPLOMAT, so this kind of speak is probably ingrained in him.  Which makes it all the more astonishing how blunt he's been in condemning Bergoglio.  Pius XI was also a trained diplomat and ended up causing lots of problems by constantly attempting to compromise with the enemy.

I think that we need to just pray for Bishop Vigano and continue to encourage him in his awakening, reaffirming when he speaks the truth.

Yes, give him a chance, but always keep one eye open. Before I would trust him, he would need to openly reject VII and all of it’s attachments.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?
